  1. Current form has us with one win and two draws in the last 5. Replicate that over the remaining games and we'll finish on 33 points. Not enough. Can't see us getting out of it myself but a win tomorrow might just get the optimistic juices flowing. Anything less than 3 points will probably not be enough - unless the plan is to win against Man City instead of course.
  2. Other games will start to become fairly academic if Saints don't pick up 3 points tomorrow.
  3. Five wins out of ten games is required to be sure of avoiding the drop. Can anyone remember the last time Saints displayed that sort of form? Pandemic in front of empty stadiums is my guess. Get a win at West Ham and I'll start to hope again. Anything else and you'd better pray for nun pics.
  4. Thought I might tune in to watch Scotland this afternoon but it's on something called Viaplay where they want yet another bloody subscription. Well sod that. I'll clean the lawnmower instead.
  5. Feel free to support and hope. I'll be doing the same but it's like wanting the Loch Ness Monster to pop his head out of your pond. Ain't gonna happen.
  6. Sorry folks but it ain't enough.
  7. "Pass Back To The Future".
  8. I've been asking this question for years now. Having the whole team in the penalty area defending a corner just invites more pressure. Leaving someone upfield as an outlet just doesn't seem to be the Saints way any more for some reason.
  9. Probably need to win about half the remaining games now but if we can't score I just don't see how that's possible. My advice would be to accept the inevitable and the sooner it now happens the better.
  10. Saints home form if beyond dreadful. Has been for quite a while if we're honest. The players hardly see St Mary's from one week to the next so it's no wonder they don't treat it like home. Maybe a few training sessions at St Mary's might help the clueless sods to get to know the place.
  11. This season's home strip has surrender written all over it as well. Relegation now a nailed on certainty on this form.
  12. Have just arrived home and discovered the score. Exactly what I feared. Can we knock St Mary's down now?
  13. My hope is that Brentford will do a Saints and start arranging those comfy red & white deck chairs now that safety is assured.
  14. If Saints had any composure in the final third they'd be easily mid table. While a point at Old Trafford is not to be sniffed at, the failure to score against 10 men is a worry.
  15. Big week coming up. The next seven days we'll tell us a lot more about Saints' prospects. Anything less than 3 points and the fat lady will be testing those vocal chords. Take 6 points and I might feel that hope building again.
  16. A game in hand on Bournemouth, better goal difference and yet to play them at home. What's there to worry about? 😁
  17. Liverpool at home on the last day should be a nailed on 3 points given this form. 😁
  18. So Saints form since 1 Jan is 1.125 points per game. Maintain that and it gets us another 14 or 15 points. Tight.
  19. Current form under Selles is 2 points a game. Keep that up (unlikely I know) and we'll stroll to the line with 47 points. 😇
  20. The maths show that if Saints maintain their season form so far across the remaining fixtures then they'll amass the grand total of 32 points or thereabouts. I think that shows the size of the task ahead and the improvement required. Not impossible but it'll be very difficult.
  21. How dare Saints give me hope again. 😬
  22. That'll no doubt be the 4th or 5th turning point of the season.
  23. If only Saints could use some of the pace within the team to grab a goal on the break when under that sort of pressure.
  24. Let's face it - that was another dreadful home performance.
  25. Saints so, so lucky to get those 3 points. Leicester finishing awful.
