We have also received a message from the powers that be that we are officially CLOSED tomorrow. I will of course be working extremely hard from home as I have sent a file home to play with, the content =s of which I shall be discussing on the Techno forum in the morning as I need expert MS Excel advice. Assumiong of course that i actually get home at all. I have a kettle at my disposal, but coffee is locked at the other end of the building and the tuck-shop keys are in the bloody safe. I used to read loads, couldn't put a Tom Sharpe book down once I'd picked it up then all of a sudden I just stopped. Last year I decided to find my niche again but am struggling to get back into reading. I am trying to though with lot's of easy-reading trivia type books. mrs h reads a book every day and a half, she's keeping Amazon in business and the books she reads are mental, all witches, spells and stuff that isn't real. I don't get it, don't get it at all, they are crap. She also reads loads of stuff like 'below stairs' and 'how we coped in the war', which I do 'get'.

Appetite suitably whetted now and hamster-dam is deffo on the agenda reading this thread, may even grab a long weekend sometime over the next couple of months.

I have a Gills supporting friend who is as equally obsessed with the rumour mill as some on here. This morning he telled me that he has 'heard' that we made a tentative enquiry a few weeks back. Apparently the figures mentioned received no further communication from Saints, around the 1.75 mill mark! I am sure someone will beat them down but won't it be us (at this stage). Shame, as I really like Jackson's laid back, change the game with one move style that would give us that something that many clubs lack. I think of him as a stealth goal-scorer. Some might say that he's maybe not worth more than 1 mill at this stage of his career, but he has the sort of style that doesn't necesssarily rely on fitness, a natural goalscorer who will one day play on the big stage all imho of course
