Now illegal for police to conduct stop and search
Gemmel replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Lounge
The world isn't a very nice place these days and at some point the police thought these powers would help them combat a real and growing problem. The threat is stronger than ever and now the ability to act on instinct, suspicion or appearance (Yes appearance is valid) is withdrawn, the only conclusion is that however minor an effect, our ability to defeat and combat that threat is weakened and that can't be a good thing in my mind. -
Do you know any other part of the country where the old folk talk like that....... It's a calculated guess
-
I read that as well, you don't think that Al Mirage, bought the club for a pound on the assumption that the FA were about to pay for a nice shiny new 30,000 + stadium for them .....

The council gave outlined planning permission based on certain criteria. When the plans were re submitted, it included a cinema and other things (Can't remember exactly what) that the council believed would take revenue and customers out of Eastleigh town centre (They were going to put a cinema in Eastleigh town centre themsleves) and therefore opposed the new plans.

Just when I thought our entertainment on this matter was "On hold" until the HMRC court case, Mr Jacobs comes out with this; http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/Chainrai-has-no-control-over.5971300.jp A couple of enjoyable snippets; He added: 'Mr Al Faraj sees a great opportunity for this to be one of the best and biggest community clubs in the Premier League. 'There is a huge and loyal supportive base and we need to build on that. There have been several games this season whereby we could have sold the game twice over.

Watch the transfer window carefully, this is now a game of chicken. pompey mouthing off to about everything being fine, to try and prevent knock down sales. Cast your mind back to last year, Saints were in the same position. My guess is that our reluctance to sell anyone on the cheap (Infact we increased our squad) was the straw that broke the camels back for Barclays. The creditors wont make a move until after the transfer window closes, and they see how much revenue has been generated.. pompeys immeadiate priorty is HMRC, but they've got that one in hand and HRMC will withdraw the petition next week :D

Highly unlilely that you would cash in on a "Clause" unless it was some super high %. We cashed in ealry on installments, but not "Sell On Clauses"......... Mind you, you have propobly given peter story teller an idea. I would fully expect us to have a sell on clause, can't remember who was in charge when he was sold, but for numerous (To many to mention) faults that lowe had, selling players wasn't one of them, he always got a good price and he seemed to always look for future revenue .....sell on cluases etc.
-
I think its a fairly safe bet to say that they would have been paid today. With Story teller and Jacob saying it was all done, I think the PL would close them down if they fooked it again. It will be interesting to see what happens between now and the 10th as this is when "the money to secure the long term future" is apparently due and when everything becomes rosy again. Wages yes - Big dollop of investment - highly doubtful
-
Not sure if he stills claims, but I think he forgot it was a secret on this occassion; http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/football/premier_league/portsmouth/article4754215.ece

Have you seen the article where ARCADI Gaydamak listed pfc as his own asset worth 300 million

MUSH Mush is British slang for the mouth; face. Mush was old British slang for an umbrella. Mush is Southampton slang for a boy or man. You are probably right, but I always think of it as a Sotonian word.
-
It's a Southampton colloquialism and most often used as a friendly term. Don't get your back up about Mush

For an administrator to take them on they have to be confident that there are suffiecient assets, to make some sort of payments to creditors and their own costs. I THINK i read that even with staplewood, ST Mary's and some half decent talent in the squad we were turned down by our first choice and Bagbies were are second option....... Don't take that as red, it might have come from the forum

Guess again, or ask the audience

That is the first explanation that makes any sense with regard to Sacha and Arcadi still owning the club. Still seems a little far fetched, but this is the blue few we are talking about
-
I'm not convinced someone outside pompey would know that's what Sacha was preparing, but then again it was a certain Mark Dennis who broke the news 4 days earlier than anyone else, as to what Saints were going to do, but back of fag packet maths, suggests it might have some mileage. The real stumbling block would be Chanrai, who owns the stadium and can decide whetehr or not to accept any deal from the administrators, but assuming Sacha pays him back the full 18 million, and say another 10 million to other creditors (Of which he would get most of it back, as the major creditor, he could probably re own lock stock and barrell again for around 23 - 25 million (give or take ) and run the club on shoestring and pocket two lots of 30 million parchute payments (I think thats right) and selll or give away the club and there you go a nice profit and clean money
