  1. Baj, If you are doing the whole house, ask for the manager when you get in and ask for additional discount over and above the offers. I was told to do that when I did the same and they didnt even blink and were happy to obliege. I can't remember how much it was, but it was a decent amount and certainly worth doing. That was at the carpet warehouse next to B&Q in Nursling
  2. "A club spokesman said: 'The problem was due to a file not being loaded properly at the bank. It wasn't processed properly" Yeah right :---) It's things like that, that really **** fans off. Does storie ever tell the truth? I know they are as thick as fook down there, but I doubt even the blue few will swallow that bull****
  3. Isn't there a rule that says minus 9 if 3 salary payments arent made in season, or have i read some more message board bull****
  4. It will be interesting to see how the PL react to this. I would have thought that the whole pompey saga has / is a huge embarrassment to them and now they have breached some clear rules, they have a chance to act. If there was a way of getting them out of their league, the minus 9 points would help them on their way and the PL can wash their hands of them.
  5. I just can't believe they havent paid the players or at least the ones they want to sell. If this is true, then this is more serious than the winding up order. Forget whether the players can walk out for free, this would mean an automtaic 9 point deduction and then they are relegated without question. If they think it's hard to raise money now, they won't have a hope without thier premier league status (Infact it's almost impossible whilst they have it) The idea of them ceasing to exist, is becoming a very real possibility.
  6. Much of what you say is correct and we are better off at St Marys, but lowe single handly fouked up Stoneham. He got lucky and got a second chance and should rightly be credited with th success of St Marys, but he was one of a few that made it happen
  7. See post 5066 for the answer
  8. Panic over, skates can breathe a sigh of relief. The club say they think HRMC have made some sort of mistake (JUst on sky sports) and that it will be withdrawn in a couple of days. ....... bit like the transfer embargo
  9. But they do want a court hearing to force HMRC to withdraw their demands.......... Those will be the demands they haven't been formally notified of
  10. We havent been issued with a winding up petition....... We will request a hearing in January to get the High court to force HMRC to withdraw their demands
  11. There are huge differences between our situation and theirs. But ultimately it comes down to the assets. At 13 million which included the Stadium, Staplewood and the squad, there was enough to make us an attractive proposition. They don’t have those assets, with the exception of half a dozen players who have a reasonable sellable value (Although that will have gone down as clubs look to get bargain deals from clubs in trouble). Loans have been taken out against future TV revenue and the ground is reportedly owned by gaymark, who claims to still be owed 25 million, then throw Lens, Watford, Chelsea, Football agents, Sol Cambell, the Chinese businessman and HMRC into the mix and it just gets messier. If HMRC are successful with their petition, then the current Directors could well become liable for the debts, so will have to have to make a decision on “Administration” before February. I personally think they will sell a couple of players and pay off the tax man, so a lot of this is a non starter in short term, but long term they are deep deep in the weeds and whether they go down the admin route or not, they will be relegated and maybe more than once.
  12. According to some employment lawyer the Guardian quoted
  13. LOL, i bet he has already snapped one off the wrist with this news and is putting the final touches to his two paragraph business plan. Make no mistake he will make an appearance.
  14. This is excatly what I thought, if you are owed money now then you will be as ****ed off as pompey fans. HMRC have first dibs on any money, so watford and co will be panicking. If the petition is successful it automatically becomes a compulsory liquidation. If they dont pay the players tomorrow, some will walk away and sign on for other clubs, taking a nice 20% + signing on fee for themselves, if they do get paid, pompey will sell sell sell..... the trouble being that this news will ensure the players values are greatly reduced.
  15. It is where the creditor (HMRC) wants to close the business down. They have skipped the Administration step (Which would have given them some more time and more options) They have four weeks to find the money or they really are out of existence.
  16. Probably best left to Clapham Saint, to explain the real differences, but in its most basic terms, we didnt default or default to an extent that other creditors wanted to wind us up. The bank simply bounced a cheque and had the directors carried on trading would have become personally liable for the debts. The tax man is a whole different ball game and it is now at the stage where they dont just want their money, they want to close them down. Whilst i am sure they will bail themselves out somehow, or be reborn in some new guise, this is going to be painful. I also think it will force to FA or PL to address the whole "Money" aspect of football.
  17. Actually I would rather we were still at the Dell, but understand why we had to move.

    Ground Share

I know it has been discussed on the forum (In it's various forms) a few times, but an interesting post on the takeover thread in the lounge, from a skate, who believes that end is nigh for pompey, based on some sort of land deal; "your seeing the endgame, kaboul off in Jan, in all seriousness I think PFC is being wound down for a property deal on the ground and you will not see a PFC again ever in the current form." So if that does happen and whatever form they are reborn as, would you want them to ground share with us? NC and Libherr have said they want to ultimately run us as a self sustaining business, so financially it would obvioulsy make sense, but would the fans accept it? For me it is a resounding NO.
  21. You don't deserve this but as it's Christmas; There was no malice what so ever in my post, you may have noticed I even bolded the "good laugh" quote from your text. Your original comments to "View from the top" regarding mocking the afflicted contained some valid points (Although heavily laced with hypocrisy) but as previously mentioned you have past the point you can start complaining when people get personal......and that's entirely of your own doing. Happy Christmas
  22. lmfao
  23. Spot on
  24. You are spot on with rosler (Fuller doesnt even come close) but bearing in mind Ormerod would make the worst Saints team in history, he has to be first choice for the decade
