Instead of being a Brisbane Saint I turned into a Sydney Saint over the weekend. Was too nervous to watch the game and it seemed as though Fox Sports 3 was showing the Hammers game in any case. When I woke from my slumber in my hotel room at around the 70 minute mark the missus told me we were already 4-0 up. Happy Days! I went for a walk down down by circular quay this morning and what did I see - a Saints shirt. I would have hugged the guy but he looked about 15 and was out with his mum and sister! Back in the UK in early June for 2 weeks so already planning a visit to St Mary's - I guess that's too soon for the new PL kit but I'm sure there'll be some decent stuff to buy and then wear at the Pig 'n Whistle come August.

I saw Saints vs Blackpool on Fox Sports last night. As Pompey is an early kick-off too next weekend does anyone know if its on TV or whether somewhere like Pig 'N Whistle will be showing the game live. I'm sailing around Moreton Bay on Sat/Sun so assuming I don't fall in and get eaten by sharks (different hazards to the Solent) then I'm up for some Skate bashing!

Well my Saints shirt circa 1993 will be staying at home a while longer - its back in the UK! What I meant to say was my shirt circa 2003 is with me in Brisbane. It's tucked away in the same drawer as my Ashes tour top from earlier this year

Pig N'Whistle on the 8th will be full of rugby fans. The Roar can wait - I'll be watching Wales v Ireland and then England v France - atmosphere will be great. Will be wearing the red rose of England. My Saints shirt circa 1993 will stay at home a while longer. I'm moving to Brisbane at the end of this month for 2-3 years having spent some time there a few months back with work over Xmas and the floods! I've been to the likes of the Pig & Whistle to watch EPL games but will Championship games next year get shown much.

A couple of quick points. Charlton finished below us last year and have now won their first 5 league games - is their squad much better than ours? We started this season 10 points from safety, we're now 11 adrift of 5th bottom. Not exactly progress. I'm trying to keep the faith but if this last stat hasn't improved by the end of September then we are in deep trouble.

Excellent appointment and as folks have said should be able to work his contacts book to our advantage.

Lets hope all goes to plan on Monday. I agree with the approach taken - as I mentioned many moons ago on one of my infrequent posts the new owners don't want to be in the position Nick Owen & Co found at Luton when they took over. As I understand if you exit administration incorrectly (according to FL criteria) then a further points punishment awaits. Hence instead of -10 pts you could be looking at -30pts. Anyway F1 qualifying and the British Lions awaits...

I love the fact we had a crap chairman, a crap manager, a crap team, a crap season and by the looks of things a crap takeover. Thank god Eurovision can cheer me up tomorrow.

Why has no-one mentioned what happened to Luton, Rotherham or Bournemouth? If the club/SLH (same thing in my book) don't exit administration the right way we'll get docked more than 10 points. Also if new owners didn't come forward in times of plenty who believes we'll get good ones in times of famine. Other than that life is wonderful. PS: My wife was born in Lima - do I win an extra prize!
