That's the one. He's obviously highly rated, would be good to get him on the bench at some point this season.

There's been a lot of them, Hesketh, Seager, Gape, McQueen, McCarthy (Jason not Alex), Jake Sinclair, Turnbull, Watts, Tchaptchet, Olaigbe. All of them tipped to be rising stars at one point or another and all falling by the wayside. I remember Ramello Mitchell being the next big thing, watched by clubs from all over...he can't even get a club at the moment. Who was the lad that went to Chelsea and immediately came back again? Is he still at the club?

Simon Clifford? It's not this guy regardless, Gifton Noel Williams was playing for Burnley when we got relegated from the Prem in 2005.

This is a really good point. A lot of the rumours have been underwhelming, but the actual signings have all been decent to very good, with some of them coming out of nowhere. IIRC it was only really Manning and Downes that were rumoured before signing and even those really could have been luck on the reporters side, as we've been linked with almost all of the players that did well under Martin at Swansea.

Given the way the post went I'm now wondering if your username was supposed to be "Niemi".
-
Wow. Just looked him up, I recognised the name so thought he must have forged a semi decent career in the lower leagues. One appearance in he EFL Trophy and 18 appearances in non-league at 27 years old.
-
Must be. We should be looking at £20million then if he's here till 2025.
-
Not sure what this topic has to do with us taking Flynn Downes on lone.
-
This thread started bizarrely and is getting even weirder.
-
He's probably been asked to make himself useful and take the pictures.
-
How much are we thinking? He's probably worth £20million but isn't his contract up next summer? Probably be lucky to get £15million.
-
It's his weedy little legs and his style of play (a lot of twisting and turning at speed) putting strain on his muscles.
-
4-1, but yeah. Great start to the season for the girls.
-
Amazing how you've extrapolated me "flapping" and struggling to survive day to day life from me simply saying I think a loan doesn't really benefit us enough to warrant losing him from the squad.
-
Not sure why people are reacting with confused faces to this. Letting him go on loan doesn't benefit us at all. Our squad is weaker and we have no funds to reinvest.
-
Does that say loan with option to buy? Would have been good to get a fee for him this summer as we would have upgraded signing Manning and made some money doing so.
-
Having previously said it's going nowhere, been watching the games today and can't remember hearing goal music once.
-
I tried earlier but couldn't get it working. 3-1 up now, top of the league.
-
I think he's nailed on for the England squad with Henderson leaving for the middle east and him now playing for one of the FAs favoured teams.
-
Obafemi? 🤦🏼♂️

I've said all summer that I agree with the "everyone for sale at the right price" mantra of this summer, but we need to be careful now so close to the transfer window closing. If any deals are agreed for outgoings we need to say we won't conclude the deal until we have a replacement secured. I also think that, although I would sell Che for the right price, his goals are worth enough to us that we should be asking well above the usual market price. Talk of him going for £10-15million is way too cheap for me.
-
People have been saying this since the mid 2000s. It isn't going anywhere.
-
Maybe not now, but in years to come when nobody really cares about who he used to be because he was just one of any number of faceless mercenary footballers who chased a few extra quid. Guess I just have different priorities to the majority of people.
-
Edozie is just finding his shooting boots. I reckon he'll get double figures and if we keep Sulemana he could easily hit 20.
-
More the fact that if he'd stayed he'd have still retired with more money than he'll ever need, and he would have been a Saints legend for all time. Now he'll never be a legend anywhere, remembered here in the same breath as Andrew Surman instead of Rickie Lambert and remembered at West Ham as, at best, the same level as Dimitri Payet.
