For some reason I thought he was on loan at a championship side last season. On the face of it a good signing, reinforcement at CB which I wanted and left sided as well. Hope he's signed to be a starter though and not back up to Jan and Stephens.
-
That came out of nowhere. Think it's a really good signing though.
-
Interesting you remember a mistake he made last season but you repeatedly defend on the numerous mistakes Bazunu made, including one goal palming it into his own net. Also interesting that the case for Bazunu this season seems to revolve around us being a league lower and him being more suited to this level but that doesn't apply to McCarthy, who has actually played and succeeded here before.
-
McCarthy. As you said they all have issues, but McCarthy has experience, has excelled at this level before with Reading and has even put in top performances in the Prem (not very often I admit, but still more often than Bazunu). I actually would have preferred none of them, wanted to sign a new first choice from a team down here already and loan Baz out, but it's obvious we aren't signing another keeper now. I've accepted he's now our number one but that doesn't mean I have to stop being critical.
-
Bit cynical, they still aren't going to be selling huge amounts of them they're literally producing a limited edition level amount. There'll still be very disappointed people. What's funny is the green one is actually available on that DHGate website that a lot of us use for Saints kits.
-
I agree, no more outgoings from the first choice attacking line and I'm not too fussed about bringing anyone else in. I'd still like to see an improvement at CB (unless we also keep hold of ABK).
-
Part of the reason I wasn't keen on the sell before buying mantra is that it inevitably means clubs ask us for higher prices.

"Obsessed" mate I'm literally just replying to people who reply to me, it's how a forum works 😂

Over the course of a season, it's not meaningless. I'm just keeping track of it. If it was flipped and he saved 75% of all shots on target we'd be singing his praises for it.
-
That's not what I'm saying at all. What I'm saying is "keeper concedes 3 out of every 4 shots on target, this is a problem if it carries on".
-
True and that may well be the case. All I'm saying is so far he hasn't looked particularly confident.
-
I didn't say I don't care about the stats, I said he doesn't look confident still because of the fortunate nature of the goals scored.
-
Turkey or Italy would be my guesses. Relatively big leagues so can afford to pay him the sort of wage he'll want, and also places that haven't been shy about taking players with questionable morals in the past.

Brentford 1 -2 Southampton (closed door friendly)

Anyone know what his save percentage was? Asking for a friend. -
I don't know, do you?
-
I think his goals so far this season have been the embodiment of calm finishing, personally.
-
I think everyone agrees Armstrong can get goals at this level, but so far even with him having the same amount of goals as Che he still doesn't look confident. His goals have come from two penalties and a shot from Tella bouncing off the back of his head, not the same quality.
-
You're right. I should have said there is no realistic circumstance in which him signing a new contract is beneficial to him without the power of seeing into the future.
-
Sulemana is superior to both right now. His performance against Liverpool last season was superb. He would be an unbelievable player to have on the left with Tella on the right.
-
No guarantee a club comes in for Adams at all next summer to be fair, even at £10million. There is no circumstance in which signing a contract is beneficial to him.
-
We're a league lower now. We're in a league in which Jos Hooiveld and Danny Fox were top defenders. Che Adams will get us goals this season. If he fires us to promotion and then leaves on a free, absolutely brilliant. I have more faith in him than anybody else we are going to realistically get in to replace him.
-
I've given him praise in the past. This has escalated in a bizarre way. I literally just posted his save percentage stat. I have no hatred for him. Do I think he's shit? Yes. Do I think he has potential? Yes. Do I think he'll reach it? I'm doubtful, and certainly not this season. He is at very best a huge gamble to have as our number one. My opinion of Bazunu is far less vitriolic than some of the things spouted on here about Elyounoussi, Onuachu, Armstrong, Aribo or even Che Adams.
-
I agree. All I did was update a stat that I said in advance I was going to update.
-
We're in a situation where everyone in the squad is available for the right price, I think. £10million for Aribo would probably do it (although loan with option is a little strange, I guess).
