  1. I think he said that they'd rather spend buy youth players at £200k a pop who would increase in value and cited the "success" of Matt Targett in as much as we made a huge amount of profit from him.
  2. How close to the ground did you get before you realised.
  3. Just checked, Bazunu has played one more game than McCarthy last season, has made less saves than him both overall and per game and has a save percentage of 53.5% of shots on target - McCarthy's was 63%. Bazunu has the second worst save percentage out of all goalkeepers, only Bournemouth's second choice keeper is worse, and nobody but those two have less than a 64% save rate.
  4. I'm not saying McCarthy should be our first choice, I wanted him gone as well, just that he would have saved some of the goals Bazunu has let in. And Forster would absolutely have us 5-6 points better off I have no doubt of that. But I expected us to let both of them go last summer and sign a quality, experienced goalkeeper, it was the perfect opportunity to finally sort the position out and they fucked it up.
  5. Bazunu is worse. McCarthy is crap but I remember him making saves that you wouldn't expect him to make, Bazunu makes bog standard saves and then sometimes even those he palms into his own net.
  6. Didn't he nearly sell him to fund a move for Andy Reid? Or was it a swap deal? I know he nearly got sold to Forest anyway.
  7. Was just about to post exactly this. I always liked Keane, lost his way at Everton but he was quality there initially and before that. Thing is, we don't even need him to be THAT good to be an improvement.
  8. Prepare for a mind f*ck. A contract till 2027 is only 4 years long.
  9. Yeah fair point, and he did score arguably the greatest champions league final goal of all time, but do you think any Madrid or La Liga fans will think of him as a club or league legend? I don't. Stayed at Spurs and they may well have managed to win the league the season Leicester did with him at his peak and Kane up top.
  10. Thank you peasant. Seems like he's going to be more useful for us in the AM role rather than playing in CM. I like the positions he takes up and runs he makes into the box.
  11. Clearly lost his passion for the game years ago. Shame really. Should have stayed at Spurs, he'd be a premier league all time great now.
  12. Go on then, let's see his Steve De Ridder style YouTube video.
  13. We're more likely to beat City now than in the final, that's the way I look at it.
  14. Agreed. It's utter nonsense. If Salah wasn't there then the defender wouldn't have needed to intercept the pass, meaning as soon as the pass was played Salah was interfering with play.
  15. F*CK me the bloke launched into the Haka.
  16. Well, I'm convinced. Season is saved, Jones in, Everton game is a free hit now.
  17. If this launches a league run you'll have a point. I'm willing to bet we lose V Everton regardless of the result here.
  18. Why don't you fuck off, I had a season ticket all the way down the league's and all the way back up and was priced out by the PL. We aren't going to win it or even get to the final. My point was that we manage to get goals in a game that won't affect our league position but play like absolute wank in the league.
  19. Alright princess, calm down.
  20. Amazing. In a game that means nothing.
  21. Pompey 1 down in the Twitchy Derby.
  22. That's funny. Remember Beckham scoring one like that in the world cup, I think against Ecuador?
  23. Love that. Leave those in charge in no doubt.
  24. By that logic we'd never be interesting in Guardiola.
  25. I bet we smash them and only narrowly lose or beat Man City leading to Jones keeping his job and us losing the next league game comfortably.
