  1. Game on!
  2. I was thinking the same, but wasn't he on £150,000 a week at West Ham? Doubt he'd drop enough to fit in our wage structure.
  3. Yeah must have been the Euros I saw him as I wouldn't have seen any of him at Gent or Benfica.
  4. Always liked that Yaremchuk, would like to see him at Saints.
  5. Come on Scotland!
  6. So we keep the ones that make zero impact and take a gamble on a £15million player doing better than he can?
  7. Experience of fighting relegation and winning the league. That kind of dismissive mentality would have seen us never buy Marsden...
  8. Would anyone consider Danny Drinkwater on a free transfer to add a bit of experience to the squad as well as competition in midfield?
  9. The point i'm getting at is that I don't think we should be looking to sell and replace all of them at the same time, and if we're going to keep one of them it should be the one that's actually made the most contribution - not just in terms of stats but also in terms of our best performances. Elyounoussi was instrumental in Spurs away for example, he tore them apart.
  10. The middle stripe is too thin, makes it look like it's puny and going to snap.
  11. Interesting to note that Salisu made more interceptions than any other player in the league, and second in that list...was Bednarek. Clearly they're instructed to be more aggressive in trying to win the ball back, and when it works it works well but when it doesn't it leaves us massively exposed. This makes me feel more and more that we'd be suited to a 3-4-3 style formation, so when a centreback steps up and presses for the ball there's still two more to cover. Less risk when the fullbacks bomb forward, our midfield two sitting and transitioning the ball without needing to be too mobile and a front three ready to press the defense at multiple points. Hypothetical line up to follow... ------------Dragowski -----Tarkowski Salisu Bednarek KWP------JWP-----Romeu-----Perraud ----S. Armstrong Adams Nketiah Another CB out of contract we should be looking at is Jason Denayer.
  12. Ok, I'll ignore those goals. He STILL has more goals than anyone in the squad except JWP, Broja and Adams.
  13. Finished the season with 8 goals and 4 assists in 33 appearances, 3rd best in our squad for both. Can we improve? Yes. But he's nowhere near as bad as people make out and I would sell Redmond, Djenepo and Small one before Elyounoussi who I would keep as backup to whoever we bring in.
  14. Too complicated a subject for me to get into right now, but one thing I will say in Bednareks defence is I think he is actually much better suited to playing left sided CB, he always looks better for us when he's there and he plays there for Poland too.
  15. You don't have to be full pro, you have to be at least part time. From what I understand the league we were just in allows teams to be amateur.
  16. Agreed. After one year we can either sell him or if KWP or Tino get big offers and move on we keep him as backup again.
  17. Be nice to have a coach with a wealth of experience behind him to be honest.
  18. All well and good, but we need experience at goalkeeper and centreback bare minimum. We can't have an entire team of players under 25.
  19. Pleasantly surprised by this. Hopefully we don't scrimp on their replacements, get some coaches in proven to develop talent. We then go into next season with a squad full of players Ralph has chosen to either sign or retain, and a backroom staff you'd assume he's had a hand in picking too. No excuses for next season.
  20. Glad to hear it. Would be interesting to see what the wage outgoings are in the relevant set of accounts.
  21. Not sure if sarcasm or not, but no in the grand scheme of Premier League football clubs it really isn't. It's probably the equivalent of one academy player getting their first professional contract.
  22. What was the bad sportsmanship people have mentioned for the Vardy goal?
  23. Blackmore is sometimes a little guilty of trying to placate and be mates with those at the club. He is first and foremost a reporter.
  24. Saints are part time already, which is rare for the level we were at. Going full time doesn't mean we start paying them thousands of pounds a week. A decent full time annual salary would be £25,000 a year, which equates to less than £15,000 a week for a squad of 30. We can easily budget for that from the savings when Forster leaves. Hell, even paying them £30k a year would only cost us £18,000 a week overall.
