Wouldn't the "experience" that Lancashire is supposed to bring that he can tell the lads about be better learnt as actual experience out on loan in the lower leagues?

Which of their youth team players who were shit, got dumped early on and spent a career in the lower leagues have they hired then?

You've all convinced me. I am now very excited that Ollie Lancashire is the shining beacon of hope to lead our youth players into careers of diving into tackles too early, getting turned easily and misjudging the flights of crosses as they sail over his head.

I get the concept behind it but ffs of all the players we could have picked. Bring back Wayne Thomas, Chris Perry, Danny Butterfield, Michael Svensson, so many brilliant defensive players for us over the years. I think it shows a lack of belief and ambition from himself as well that at 32 - not especially old for a centreback - he'd rather play the odd game in our reserves than be an experienced leader for a lower league team.

I agree, they overpaid but they were desperate and I think he'll end up being an important player for them for a long time. Carillo was an utter abomination.

Before that it was his first season there, he was a victim of his inflated price tag. When big money signings come in nobody is willing to give them time to settle.

Pepe has been a good player for them and will become more and more important.

Yet another one absolutely raved about by the club, supposedly watched by bigger clubs, going on to lesser things. Slattery, Alfie Jones, Sims, Reed, Seager...all tipped to be big talents and ended up getting dumped.

Next summer really is a huge opportunity for us, providing we stay up. We'll finally be free of all the expensive mistakes, have a lot of extra wage budget to play around with. This is annoyingly true. A move to City and he could score 10 goals in 30 games next season and almost certainly be in the squad.

Surprised by the amount of people on Facebook (I know) saying they'd turn down £5million. In my eyes, if we get anything at all for the expensive liabilities in our squad on top of just gettijg them off our wage bill, it's a hell of a bonus.
