Romeu for me is the one who made the biggest improvement, specifically with his passing. Made him more useful going forward as well.
-
Redmond in fairness but it's not like he was fantastic beforehand. Definitely used to be more direct though.
-
Are we believing the claim that he was Ralph's top target this summer?
-
We definitely seem to be focussing on filling our youth and reserve teams with a few more quality youngsters. Makes me wonder if Ralph is buying in for the longer long term and is prepared to accept a lack of first team investment for another season.

Is that Benni Smaithwaite?

So the people booing are accused of misunderstanding what the players are trying to do, and in response you don't even attempt to understand why people are booing and instead just prejudge them as racists?
-
I really hope they replace it with something else for next season. I said right back at the start of this that both sets of players lining up facing the camera, intermingling and holding a banner with one of the many football related antiracism initiatives slogans on it (kick it out, red card to racism, say no to racism etc) would garner unanimous support and not be booed at all. For those who think I'm a racist for not liking the taking of the knee, surely you'd want the premier league to expose me properly by changing the symbol used to show whether or not I support it?

LGBT rights is an easy one for 11 men to symbolise to be fair, and as a further bonus it only really requires one of them to be on their knees.

Ronaldo is one of the worst freekick takers of all time. He is the designated taker wherever he goes through sheer arrogance alone.
-
Who? Djenepo? Utter disaster if he is second choice left back going into the season.
-
Best case scenario he plays as well as Bertrand in his prime which makes him not quite good enough for Chelsea.
-
Probably alone in this but I'd be very disappointed if we let Obafemi go.
-
Sounds like he would be a good signing, but are we signing another fullback or are we planning on switching KWP to left back in the even of a Perraud injury? Also really hate the buy back clause for the reasons listed in other posts, unless it's set at something like £40million (unlikely). Watch it be a £10million clause and his value shoot up to £50million in 3 years time

Christ, we certainly do seem to have our fair share of bright sparks coming from the academy whose careers get spun off kilter because of early injuries.
-
Be a shame if he's injured for the start of the season breaking his appearances streak.
-
Reckon it could have been different for him had he come into the first team in the Liebherr/Adkins era, had a lot of attributes and potential but like a lot of our youth players around that time suffered from the fact they were thrown in at the deep end by Lowe/Poortvliet/Wotte. Those 2 seasons of fighting relegation in the Championship and then going down with a squad full of youth team players - bar a handful of seniors - probably damaged a lot of them for most of their careers.

Assorted Pedantry and Skimpy Leotards (split)

Hate to go all MLG on you but he wasn't saying that White and Grealish' fees would add up to £90million. -
Interesting. I ordered the home and away ones on the 16th of July, if they turn up and look decent I'll order the third one as well.
-
Harsh, I thought the thing that looked most improved about Forster upon his return was his passing.
-
Difference for me is Forster does make saves you don't expect him to, McCarthy only ever makes simple saves.
-
Well bugger me I was wrong, club announced him as joining the B team programme. Signings at centreback still required then.
-
I bet you a million pounds he doesn't go out on loan.
-
There's no way Simeu has left being Chelsea's reserve captain to play in our reserves, SNSUN. He's here to push for first team games.
-
Obafemi looked sharp. Would like to see him get more game time this season, I think there's a good player in there.
-
So less than a year after we were trying to turn the under 23s into "more of a B team", we announce we're signing Lancashire as we try to turn out B team into "more of a reserve team".
