How are we supposed to replace Ings with a player of equal quality? We'd have to spend all of his transfer fee plus millions more on wages and signing bonus to tempt that level of player to come to us, and even then they might still tell us to fuck off. The summer we replaced Lallana, Shaw and Lambert with Tadic, Bertrand and Pelle shows that we don't need to be finding the kind of expensive "proven" talent you're asking for, we just need to do some actual decent scouting.

Looks so much more confident in coming for crosses now which is huge. I know some people were unsure about his punching but at least he was connecting with them rather than missing them entirely, and if they were more up than away that at least gives himself and the defence a moment to set themselves. Armstrong had a simple pass through on his stronger foot to play Ings through on goal. Ings there had a straight run at the goal with the keeper in no man's land and fucked it up. Neither of those players have been out injured for 4 months.

JWP has been superb this second half getting control of the midfield. He doesn't have much pace but positions himself brilliantly when he has the ball so that the only way the opposition player near him can get the ball if by fouling him. Great awareness.

First match back from injury means he's been rusty, but still showed he has some class.
