Not sure I agree with that. Only time I ever saw him look decent was running down the wing to get a cross in.

Yep I watched that, "not passing backwards or square" was the exact phrase...then literally as he finished saying that the clip in the background showed a backwards pass followed by a square pass. The trick is having the guts to play the forward pass when the opportunity is there, not ALWAYS passing forward.

I don't understand why they can't have the fourth official do the pitch side reviews, as they are always fully qualified referees anyway.

Very amusing, but also completely irrelevant. The language used in the Yeovil game couldn't be construed as racist unless completely misheard.
-
Spoke to a couple of mates who are Yeovil fans and were at the game right behind the goal. They said that someone shouted "get back c*nt" because the keeper was encroaching on the penalty and that must have been misheard because that's when their players started going mad. Also said that unreported was the fact that the keeper had been spraying his water bottle in the face of a fan behind the goal and had a swear filled rant at them himself at one point. Seems to think if Yeovil had missed the penalty, they wouldnt have kicked up a fuss and would have played on. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

I would genuinely fancy my chances against some of the dross in the Scottish league.

The law required him to send a letter asking for an extension - he's done that.
-
For what? Your post is coming across far more childish and spoilt than anything he's done.
-
Having said that it was a fantastic second touch to take it across the defender, taking him completely out of the game.

Not sure why anyone was moaning about VAR for the first one anyway as it was the lino that gave it as a freekick. Really in that situation VAR shouldn't have had anything to do with it as the game had stopped already, anything that happened afterwards would be considered out of play.
-
I understand people who are of the opinion VAR takes some of the magic out of the game, but really not sure why people are saying Wolves were unlucky today. Under the laws the the game those two goals shouldn't have stood.

Youtube isn't working, what tune is this to?

Is that Paul Fosu-Mensah the one that used to be at Ajax? Brother of Timothy Fosu-mensah at United?

It's not sustainable, that's my point. You can't rely on him as a goalscorer as he's only scoring when there's a major f*ck up in the opposition back line. It's not like when we had Pelle, Rickie, Mane and could rely on them to create something for themselves.
-
Can still only score when there's a defensive **** up, Ings has been very lucky with goalkeeping/centre back mistakes, doesn't actually create much for himself. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Tapatalk

And there was Trousers thinking there wasn't much opportunity for laughing at them anymore!

Interesting article on the role of directors of football in transfer negotiations; https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50086438 -
The entire sport is using this kind of data, just because we're doing it badly doesn't mean it doesn't work.
-
Agreed, but it's also not comparable in terms of it's implications for the wider population.

100 people having swine flu is an outbreak. 1 person is an isolated incident. No-ones saying that having that 1 racist person is acceptable, but when it comes to punishment you just punish that person - when it's a much larger percentage, it requires more widespread action.
-
Jesus, I thought he looked half decent for them against us and was relatively impressed, didn't realise they paid twice as much as we did for Sir Rickie. What an atrocious waste of money for that level - entire promotion winning teams have been built with much less.
-
I thought the same, but i'm not sure whether it was a case of not wanting to give up the score line (would an abandoned game result in a replay or an automatic 3-0 win to England?), or if they decided at halftime that with the way the game was going they wanted to play on and destroy Bulgaria to humiliate the people in the stadium.
-
This is the trouble, it's all punishments that don't actually affect the fans. They won't qualify for the finals anyway so even a points deduction wouldn't do it. And until their society moves on and the government condemns it, things won't change anyway...
