As much as it is very insensitive (at least on the surface) to threaten legal action before the bodies have even been recovered, there is no real reason Cardiff shouldn't be paying the money - if the plane hadn't gone down they would have been paying it anyway so they can't now claim they can't afford it, and i'm sure there's someone in their finance department who isn't too upset about the whole thing that's able to transfer the money.

I'm assuming Barnes will be included in the 25 man squad from now on so possible Ralph has decided that him and Gallagher are good enough to see us through the season as back up to Ings, Long and Obafemi. As well as Redmond being in form in front of goal, he could play up top in a pinch.

Always amazes me when people say we should have kept him. It was blatantly obvious from day one that he came to us on a 6 month deal just to bring some money in for him and to offer cover for us - we were always going to play Stephens ahead of him to get him the experience, Caceres was there purely in case we had ANOTHER injury at the back. He was never interested in staying at Saints long term, it was just 6 months of getting paid and move on to bigger things.
