Wow, this poopey thing MUST be getting serious. I finally joined Twitter
-
Who cares? The one true constant in this whole story is that when we all speculate as to the most ludicrous thing that could happen.... Something even funnier happens. Pull up a comfy chair, get the popcorn out and sit and watch todays entertainment. likely outcome bet from DP. An injunction freezing the Admin process leaving them in total legal limbo until they answer specific questions, but then everything I bet on comes last.

The description of their actions has been often used on here by our posters. Revenge is a dish best served cold. HMRC have been taking a hit for years. They must now think that someone has dropped the ball and given them an opportunity. While they may not change the overall "preferred creditor" status legally, the new attitude may force the Football Authorities to negotiate a more even handed arrangement as opposed to the stand-off they have now. They probably see much more than the simple 18mil. They go at this one like attack dogs, they will go after other clubs like attack dogs and EVENTUALLY the football authorities will have to pick up the phone and talk or there won't be many clubs left. Karma again 55 minutes to go, do we have a Twitter Feed lined up from the Court Room?

Ooh, now you've done it. You'll now be quoted on one of their forums and called a pony twiddler or similar. "Cos we only said that as a joke innit"
-
What is funnier is that it has been there for 3 months. But only now has a Skate Fan noticed it

As everyone is having an opinion we should set up a sweepstake! HMRC will be taking this action to get a decision. They would not have done that unless they think there is a doubt. I think that may be a little different from whether Chanrai is allowed to do this under the law. My guess is that this is all about pieces of paper. Are the right pieces of paper in the right places at the right time. But that's a guess, let's hope their filing system was as bad as their Corporate Governance Less than two hours to go.

Was that Marvin the paranoid Android in there or was it Storrie Tellers new "anti-money waving" personal body armour suit?

Waking up time. That feeling of anticipation, an uncertainty at what the day ahead holds, but an assuredness that It isn't Christmas Day, but it feels that way and some how you just know that during the day And just somehow you wonder if it really will be

Typical of this bloody forum - "always with the negative waves Moriarity" We'll make it to 25,000 no problemo

Well, if you do then please report back

But the nice thing about those SOX is how it makes you view things like the Skates saga rather than giving memories of arrrgghhh

Many many years ago an a**hole called Sarbanes-Oxley made my life in Corporate Land absolute hell. Every single moment of every day we had a flood of Lawyers telling us how to answer the phones and how to keep records. The reality was that "Corporate Compliance" moved to the forefront of the life of businessmen across the planet. As companies built the correct legal systems and processes they went through great pain but also went through a tremendous learning experience. S-O actually became the perfect solution for poor management in that it enabled them to cover their arse at all steps in business life. This court case is funny for us, it is no doubt a nightmare for The Few as they seek to find "Someone to Blame", BUT it clearly is time that the ENTIRE PL & FL structure and process implemented their own Corporate Governance and Processes rule book. The day of the Nudge, Nod or Wink, the Brown Envelope have now finally been shown to have gone. Football Clubs must be run with Professional processes. If the Authorities will not act then The Government must.

Thank God someone agrees with me about The Bay City Rollers

Trouble with Heathrow is if you get back there late on Saturday from a night out - it is a swine to take a taxi if the Hoppa has stopped. I use this web site for when I stay over, most of the cheapie hotels are meh BUT they are good and they are cheap http://www.london-discount-hotel.com/ I'm aiming for Paddington area loads in Sussex Gardens about 4 mins from the Station. Saves an hour back to Heathrow

It was an allegation. It was commented on at the time. The source was someone who would have known the process and the situation and was involved in providing service to the club. My reaction at the time was that nobody could be that stupid. But then that was before I researched SBT and before we learnt more about Storie. It would be an interesting question to pose the investigators. Is there any evidence that Sultan Bin trump actually paid his one pound for the ownership of the club? Was that paid into petty cash or was it done by TT from his great wealth in wherever it is this week? Did he in fact even HAVE one pound to be able to pay? Did Al Faraj physically pay SBT 90 pence for his shares? Is there proof he existed on a receipt? But what could be funnier is the simple fact that our greatest rivals could be undone by research carried out on the web and an email sent to the press. I don't care if it's true, just the thought of it makes me ROFL
-
Going back about 200 or so pages, it was mentioned that there were reports that Sultan Bin Trump took control for one pound. However, the actual transfer of the pound and the paperwork was not completed when he "became" the owner. There was some talk that the shares may have been transferred but the physical one pound never got linked to it. At the time my "family member working in The City" mentioned it. The mess could be even funnier the actual sales of the club's shares may not have been completed properly and none of Chanrai's actions could be valid.

Did shomeone menshion Newts? Hic

It's a TV series but never mind. If I had not previously mentioned the series and the character a couple of times as being the perfect candidate for helping us ensure we got rid of the few then your dig may have had some validity, but I referenced the show so you just got it wrong again. Never mind come down to the Forum match and I'll buy you a beer

You cannot argue with his point. Personally through all the times when there was "trouble" at matches I got caught out once when ambushed leaving Highbury. I had no time for the "culture" I wasn't a part of it, but at the time if you wanted to watch football you had to understand it existed and you had to understand you either took care or took part. We grew up with football, unlike the Yoof and teenagers of today growing up with Ipods or Asbos, it affected us and became a part of what we are. If we were to follow your mate's advice then we end up back in Politically Correct La La land having to forget the war and all that nonsense. the fact is that the events are a part of the History of this football club. Thank GOD those events never brought us shame, but to forget them is to deny they happened. Why do we hanker after the Dell? Was it because we liked the entertainment or was it a place of memories. The forum is a place for debate but also a place for history. One of Saints best ever rearguard actions in a game came in Marseilles in the Cup Winners Cup. Violence off the pitch affected the players as much as the MANY innocents in the crowd. 172 fans by air and around 4 coaches, nobody on that trip was looking for anything other than a day out and some Duty Frees, but it happened and it is a vital part of our history. Is it right that we post memories of two grey haired ladies having to stand toe to toe with around 30 other fans fighting off an attack by imbecilic French fans? Do they glorify a culture of violence or were they the inspiration for many others to find a different path in life. Did they have ANY choice at the time OTHER than to fight for their lives? If you don't remember you cannot learn, If you cannot learn then you are Peter Storrie. The culture of those years should be remembered. It should never be glorified. (Although if we ARE going to scrub that era from our minds could we at LEAST start with erasing The Bay City Rollers - Tartan Silk Scarfs at Football WTF)

Obviously you've never watched Burn Notice. Michael Westen is most entertaining

What was the point? The world is full of Billionaires. There is no global financial crisis. We are a PL team. We have the gratest (sic) fans in the world, and OF COURSE we will be taken over within 24 hours. :smt036
