  18. Yes, there is an element of trust that both Saints and Pompey fans are/were bestowing upon their respective owners but that's where the similarities end. Pompey fans knew about the dubious background behind their chain of owners yet decided to stick their collective heads in the sand so they could wallow in the 'glory' days, funded by imaginary money. We have looked into the background of our owner(s),as much as Google will reveal, and haven't found anything untoward. Ergo, our "trust" is based on somewhat sounder foundations than that of Pompey's. Yes, the Cortese / Liebherr ownership of Saints may turn out to be a big financial disaster but we can't be accused of "seeing it coming" because the danger signals that were glaring Pompey in the face simply aren't there. At least we're asking the right questions about it... whereas Pompey fans seem to have stopped asking questions about their current owners...
