  3. Shocking scenes
  4. Depends how the contract is worded at the end of the day. I guess break clauses can be inserted which allow one or the other party to break or indeed both.
  5. People only over react to this kinda stuff when it's posted in a new thread to give it its own 'headline'. Will probably go largely unnoticed in this thread. Good read though.
  6. Ok nutjobs.... Emails to the Football League duly poised to remind them of their own published term and conditions of Pompey getting the goldon share should there be any signs of rule bending when the agreement is finally published... We wouldn't want any loopholes being exploited, would we....that would be soooooo pre-Trust ownership tactics...
  7. @BrentfordFC: Club statement. http://t.co/ALHfHrCiXO #brentfordfc Bestest fans in the whole wide world...
  8. This!!! Which cretin cane up with that design?
  9. That's one way of looking at it. She was also an ardent protector of our democratic system. Our democratically established law makes provision for funerals such as hers to be paid for by the state. If people don't like that they can lobby to get it changed via the usual democratic channels. So, which principle of hers do you think we should break first? And why didn't people think about this 10 years ago?
  10. (Women) drivers who stop at a roundabout regardless of whether there is any oncoming traffic. Anticipate FFS!
  11. People that walk between train carriages, barging past people sitting on the aisle seats as they do so, just to get to a door that is closer to the station exit. Just get in the right carriage in the first place and stay there you cretinous buffoons...FFS.
  12. I've no idea how the costs are split up but if there were no extra funds required to 'suppress' aggressive protests of some kind or other, over and above the norm, then I'd be surprised. I would venture that Thatcher's funeral is more likely to attract violent protests than a Royal Wedding or such like.
  13. I was thinking of the scenario where you're driving on the inside lane and its too busy to pull out into the middle lane to let someone from the slip road in but they still insist on pulling out in front of you. They should give way if there is no room to pull out. Them is the rules. But, yes, people you don't move over to he middle lane when it's safe to do so are indeed ****s

  15. And therein lies another irony... The threat of people protesting at the funeral is actually making it more expensive in the first place...
  16. Yes, she could have done, but you then set a precedent for the funerals of former prime ministers. If people want to change the law on what public funds are allocated to the funerals of prime ministers, royalty, etc then they should lobby their MP to represent their viewpoint in parliament - that's how our democracy works. People knew this day was coming yet jump on the furore band wagon rather than lobby for it well in advance. Maybe the latter approach requires too much thought and diplomacy...? I'm not sure what's more ironic and/or hypocritical....,pro-Thatcherites backing a state paid funeral or anti-Thatcherites campaigning for privatisation...
  17. And why do they keep calling them "shares" when their original prospectus went to great lengths to explain that they weren't shares (for the obvious legal reasons)?
  18. That's the beauty of democracy. Some of the tax we pay goes to pay for things we're happy about paying for and some of it doesn't. If the criteria for spending people's taxes was that 100% had to be happy with what it was being spent on then none of it would be spent on anything. I'm happy for a few pounds of the tax I have contributed over the years to go towards her funeral.
  19. I'm sure there's an intrepid journalist on the case as we speak. You know, ones that like a fact hunt...
  20. @premierleague: Mark Halsey has been appointed referee for Swansea City v Southampton on 20/04/13. #SWASOU #BPL
  21. People that still use old fashioned toothpaste tubes
  22. Anyone seen or heard any news on the "as soon as possible" publication of the "transparent agreement" between BDO and Portpin that explains what the "add-ons" are? MLG - your next mission, if you choose to accept it, is to ask the likes of Nabil Hassan (BBC Reporter) on Twitter why they haven't (seemingly) asked Birch what the delay is in publishing the agreement....
