I had the same thoughts when I read the FL statement. It did come across as the long awaited 'reply' to the PTS nutjobs correspondence with them over the last 9 months or so...

Agree, so what's the point of having a rule that is surely designed to protect 100% of what a footballer is owed?
-
Ha ha....The Echo do the business again..... http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/9814818.Pompey_suffer_another_points_deduction/ They've put a tough poll on there too:
-
Quite. Either the Football League and/or The FA want to have a rule that protects Football Creditors or it doesn't. To leave the rule open to abuse (via player intimidation) makes a mockery of having the rule in the first place.
-
True, but the Football League ruling makes provision for agreeing compromise deals with the players. Ok, so the players might not agree to compromise deals but they will be under severe pressure to do so.
-
Yeah...we should set one up in the lounge. I think this story has legs

MLG - time to dig out that quote from Birch, and the ensuing Tweet from Allen, "confirming" that the Football League won't deduct any further points from Pompey if the agree a CVA....
-
True, but don't forget the only reason Chainrai wants to regain control of the club (allegedly) is to recoup as much as he can via the Parachute Payments. He can still do that (to a certain degree) IF the players agree to the "compromise arrangements" that the Football League ruling today makes provision for. His CVA 'offer' was always conditional on this happening anyway. Chainrai won't care one jot about the -10 point penalty as long as the players can be off loaded cheaply. So, this ruling today doesn't, as far as I can tell, affect Chainrai's position one jot.

Ah...there you go....so not "in full" as your average normal person would understand it to be, but "in full" in the la la la emotional blackmail land of PFC.....

-----> The Football League (at last)

Yes, but is that "pay in full" as in what they were originally owed or "pay in full" what they have been 'forced' to accept by way of a compromise settlement....?
-
Yeah....but he "agreed" to it ergo they haven't failed to pay him what he has now agreed to be owed... That's how finances work down Pompey way... Carlsberg don't do moving goalposts, but if they did....

Steve Cotterill has been sacked as Nottingham Forest manager.

SunSport Now @SunSportNow Harry Redknapp has ruled himself out of the running for the Nottingham Forest manager's job. #nffc Well, that's tomorrow's headlines sorted then.... "Redknapp takes Forest job afterall" -
Weren't they narked at how hastily the reforms have been cobbled together rather than being against reforms per se? By delaying the reforms they could be argued to be working towards the "consensus" outlined in the manifesto. Just a hunch as I haven't followed this one very closely.

This part of that article caught my eye: "Kanu is not alone in approaching the Football League directly seeking payment of monies owed. Ex-directors David Lampitt, John Redgate and Nick Byrom did so in May, diverting vital distribution funds required by Pompey." Does that mean Lampitt, Redgate and Byrom have already received what they were owed under the Football Creditors' rule (via re-direction of the parachute payments)? If that's the case, then why hasn't this also happened with all the players, in order to recover their deferred/unpaid wages? All seems a tad inconsistent to me....

Amen.
