I'll bow to your inside knowledge on that one :-)

@jordansibley: He's been given the number 27 shirt #saintsfc >> RT @Fuffell: @jordansibley Do you know what number Yago Falque has got?
-
Can't we just do what we did the last 4 times and keep the thread open pending the next takeover?
-
Why, thank you kind sir

I concede that human beings like nothing more than a good old moan at stuff (mainly on internet forums....)

I must be too old fashioned. This was known as healthy debate when I were t' lad. Nothing wrong with a spot of Devil's Advocacy.... ;-)

So, on other words, Cameron and one of his ministers had a sensible dialogue about it. The minister suggested public financing was an option but Cameron disagreed. What's to kick up a fuss about? (other than to satisfy the human race's craving for a debate about everything and anything) Maybe people should wait for stories to reach their conclusion before jumping on bandwagons.

He tweeted this earlier: @RadhijaidiOff: HATE !!! this weather, the pitch is hard and its risk for my knee ...:/ Probably not taking any risks

Surprised not to see him getting a run out in the reserves this afternoon

Brian Howe just made this comment on facebook: Looking ever more likely its Cala Brian Howe Portsmouth Football club update...Vince and I have been waiting since last week for paperwork we required to make an educated bid for the club. From what I understand a deal has now been done with the preferred bidder. I might suggest that the person/people concerned were the only bidders as I don't think anyone else was sent the required paperwork either. I am a Pompey fan first and foremost and I am worried that there never was a chance of anyone really buying the club unless Mr Chanrai was involved. I hope I am wrong but I am looking into it...stay tuned.

Nice, Buckland... however - Dodged! Ah! Didn't see that.....I take it back then....one of my "financial dependancy" questions did get through then...... ;-) Shame this one didn't make it: "If Antonov had bought us directly rather than through CSI would we now be in admin? Lucky escape if so!"
-
They never answer any questions that allude to Pompey and CSI being financial dependancies.....can't think why. The lack of answer tells you all you need to know though....

http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/9474613.Lee__Saints__style_was_reason_for_move/?ref=mmsp Tadanari Lee gives exclusive interview in the Daily Echo 8:30am Tuesday 17th January 2012 Exclusive By Sean Carroll » TADANARI Lee's first interview in England is exclusively in today's Daily Echo - and the striker says he turned down several European clubs in order to join Saints. TADANARI Lee has revealed he turned down offers from other European clubs in order to join Saints. In his first big interview in England – printed exclusively in today’s Daily Echo – the Japan international explains how Southampton’s “special way” of playing persuaded him to move to St Mary’s. The 26-year-old should officially complete his transfer from J.League side Sanfrecce Hiroshima this week, with terms already agreed and his work permit approved. Lee said: “I got offers from many teams but the best offer for me was from Southampton.” And the man who scored the winner for Japan in the 2011 Asian Cup final added: “Southampton have a special way of playing. “I’m coming here to give everything to Southampton. I want to work together with my teammates and the fans when we win and lose, and to do my best to make the fans happy.” Read the full EXCLUSIVE interview only in today's Southern Daily Echo.

http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/great-matches/andronikou_says_preferred_bidder_could_complete_pompey_deal_this_week_1_3426120 Andronikou says preferred bidder could complete Pompey deal this week By Rory McKeown Published on Tuesday 17 January 2012 10:23 THE administrator of Pompey’s parent company says a preferred bidder for the club has been identified. Andrew Andronikou, administrator of Convers Sports Initiatives (CSI), told BBC South he hopes to complete the sale of the club by the middle of the week. Mr Andronikou said contracts are in place, BBC South reports. The News revealed last week American Sicilian businessman Joseph Cala was in the running to takeover Pompey after confirming his interest. Pompey have been looking for new owners following CSI’s administration at the end of November. Shouldn't that last sentence read: "Pompey have coincidently been looking for new owners following CSI’s administration at the end of November even though they are not fiscally dependent on the solvency of CSI." ?

major raver Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 10:21 AM Morning All. Update. AA met on Friday and Saturday morning with group number 1, didn't go to well by all accounts. They are meeting again this afternoon. AA is also meeting with a second group tomorrow, who he was with yesterday. Both parties want the deal sorted by Thursday morning, and in place for the weekend. My source has told me the preferred party will most likely pull out if not agreed by Thursday, and it isn't Cala either. Both groups passed fit and proper last week.

http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/4066039/Mario-Balotellis-footie-kitty.html MARIO BALOTELLI is doing his bit for homeless animals in Manchester. The Italian striker has taken a shine to a stray cat called Wimblydon who is a frequent visitor to the Manchester City training ground. Animal lover Mario, who enjoys visiting zoos and wildlife parks, now makes daily checks on the ginger moggie, which has been allowed to roam the complex for more than a decade. A source said: "Mario loves Wimblydon and would love to take him home. "Every day he comes in and makes sure the cat has come in to training and been fed. "He was quite bemused at first that a cat was allowed to roam the grounds but it appeals to his sense of humour. "Mario is always keeping an eye out in the car park to make sure none of the lads actually run over the cat. He's very protective of him." The cat received its name from former Colombian fitness coach Juan Carlos Osorio, who had trouble pronouncing "Wimbledon" a few years back. Mario bought two chow chow puppies before Christmas and has another dog – black labrador Lucky – back in Italy. Good job he's picking up a decent wage at City, his pet food bill must be huge.

It's just another normal day in Pompey Land.....
-
Yep, I can see the similarities.....

Indeed. But at least this incessant selective quoting in the left wing press gives the Tory bashers something to vent their spleen over day in, day out... ;-)

I've got a feeling that varies depending on the country one is visiting. I'd be surprised if EU countries have such a long expiry overlap period. I've got a feeling I read once that, technically, you don't need a passport at all in order to leave a country and that the only actual legal stipulation (within the EU at least) is that you need to provide "photographic ID" when entering another country. Of course, the most convenient and hassle free form of photo ID when travelling is ye olde passport but I'm sure it's not explicity a legal requirement to travel with one. That said, try telling that to the border guard when quizzed about it! There again, I probably heard it on QI so pinch of salt territory no doubt
