  1. Don't we have that level of confidence already? (both anecdotally and from the Cortese interviews?) Don't get me wrong, I think transparency is a good thing. I'm just exercising a little devil's advocacy in highlighting that they are not duty bound to release any more detail than is in the public domain already. Indeed, it maybe anti-competitive, business wise, if they did.
  2. jordansibley: Saints' Chief Finance Officer on @solentsport news bulletins tomorrow morning, talking about last years financial reports #saintsfc
  3. I'm amazed how we managed to cope in the days before mobile phones, t'internet, etc. Banning something from schools that didn't exist 20 years ago? Golly, how will the little cherubs manage without them...? ;-)
  4. People 'demanding' to know more about a loan between two private companies/individuals? Don't they know how private/limited companies work? It's not a plc anymore...
  5. Sssshhhhh....you'll have the left wing brigade from The Lounge on here if you're not careful, decrying such flagrant tax avoidance techniques.... ;-)
  6. So, when Cortese said in his interview towards the end of last year that the club is "debt free" (or words to that effect)...what did he mean exactly? (a) The club is debt free? Or (b) the club is not debt free? Actually, thinking about it, given these accounts pre-date the aforementioned Interview, perhaps Mr Liebherr's estate has subsequently 'written off' the "loan(s)"...?
  7. That'll be the bite he was after... ;-)
  8. I've highlighted the important bit from the accounts summary....."no transfer revenue"....i.e. we're no longer a selling club.....that's all we need know.
  9. Why would Art Garfunkel be interested in us?

  11. Exactly....ergo, best to report a loss (on paper)....
  12. Can someone pop that up on the Palarse forum? Cheers p.s. "inextrinicably" is not a word.....is that a direct copy-and-paste from the Companies House report?
  13. Ah. Yes. I forgot that minor detail! :-)
  14. Anyone know what this bit under 'Long Term Creditors' means? "Amounts owed to group undertakings £6m"
  15. p.s. Have Pompey filed their accounts for the same period yet....?
  16. Don't companies running at a loss pay less tax than those running as a profit....? Make of that what you will..... ;-)

Bugger! I thought this was going to be a thread about favourite ABBA songs
  18. Yep, agree it's "useful" and understand the reasoning behind why it is. It's just not "essential" (from observation rather than opinion)
  19. So, it's unethical for a bank to profit from a house purchase but ethical for a landlord to profit from rent payments? Notwithstanding that the Landlord has probably bought the house using a mortgage in the first place.... Not the most logical religious policy in the world I would venture...
  20. I agree that that is probablyh the ideal scenario but, from experience (both personal and from friends/family), if the kids come from a "stable background" then, in general, it doesn't really matter. I've seen kids of family/friends grow up from those who spent the first 5 years without nursery and those who spent most of the week at nurseries and they have all grown up to be "normal". Bottom line: there is no right or wrong way here. IMHO of course. edit: fwiw, Mrs Trousers did go back to work after having our two but gave up work after countless times of being told by nursery staff that she had missed out on their "first this, first that". She wanted to be there to witness these special moments.
  21. Unlike most on here, I don't know enough about the background and motivation behind this 'donation' to Pakistan. I will therefore have to abstain from this discussion.
