So who's going to break the news to the forum lefties that the 'Daily Fail' should be taken as gospel now? They're going to be livid, I can tell you.
-
But I'm still not sure what consitutes a "solid sniff"... how would such a "sniff" manifest itself and how would we get to hear about it, other than an article such as the example I found? Ta very much in advance for the clarification.
-
Just to clarify... is the Saintweb Forum intelligentsia hanging on every word the Daily Mail says today? And any idea when it'll revert back to being the 'Daily Fail'....?
-
Describe side stepping the question

Define a "solid" sniff....? https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/manchester-united-permanent-manager-hasenhuttl-23302546

Ralph in today's pre-match press conference: "Categorically, we will not be loaning Che Adams to anyone this season.....but there isn't any club that doesn't consider offers for players that might be too good to turn down" (or words to that effect)
-
Ralph: "Only Lyanco was unable to train this week" So, KWP is OK then.....?
-
So sayeth the Saintsweb intelligentsia year-upon-year... I guess they'll be right one of these days upon when they'll dust off their "told you so" card....

I think this is one of the main reasons why the atmosphere at St Mary's is often pre-emptively subdued. There used to be a time where I'd celebrate like a 'The Price is Right' contestant everytime we scored. These days, when we go 1-0 up and my son is jumping up and down with delight next to me, I often turn around to him in grumpy old man mode and say: "Nice goal, but you know what happens next, don't you...?". Knowing that there's a high probability we'll lose after taking the lead isn't really condusive to creating a great atmosphere in the first place. (Yes, I'm aware its a vicious circle.... fan aprehension leads to player aprehension etc... but it's human nature and it works both ways.)

If Ralph had picked either of those three in the LWB position, and it still went tits up, he'd have received as much flak on here as he has for picking Djenepo. Whilst I'm starting to lose faith in Ralph to a certain degree, he's very much damned if he does, damned if he doesn't, in scenerios such as this.

Yep, it's all very noble expanding it to cover other teams at the club but they need to increase the duration accordingly. My preference would be for separate, more focused forums, for each team.

I'm not sure what to make of tonight's Solent forum. I'm usually one of the positive gang on here (and often slated for being so by certain Saintsweb forum intelligentsia) but something about the vibe tonight didn't feel right. Can't put my finger on it but I just have a gut feel that 'things' are happening in the background. Don't ask me to justify these gut feelings as I won't be able to... they are just that... Gut feelings.

I'm inclined to agree but quick top of head question... Of all the players we've sent out on loan over, say, the last 5 years (and played well whilst on loan) have come back to the club and forged a regular place in the first team? I actually can't think of one off the top of my head. (My memory is pretty poor these days so there must have been at least one or two I'd have thought). Which makes me wonder whether sending a player out on loan is more likely than not to signal the end of their top flight career rather than something that rejuvenates them? (Typically)

Semmens just shot himself in the foot... Blaming fans reaction for players poor reaction during games...
-
Best question squeezed in at the end but little time to answer it
-
So no ownership questions then. Must be a first
-
If these forums are now going to cover more than one football team at the club, rather than just Saints, then it's going to need to be longer than one hour.
-
Ralph losing his rag a bit now...
-
Surprised no ownership questions yet
-
He's nothing like I expected MLG to look like
-
Get on with it (please)

Still baffles me why that wasn't a red

I remember the FA Cup in 2008 which they bought by fielding a team that they couldn't afford to pay. When was the second FA Cup win ("more recently" than 1976)...? And you forgot the bit about them ceasing to exist in 2012 and having to start afresh as a new football club.
