Either that or Jack Stephens... 😉😂

As I've always said, there's only one way to judge the transfer window and that is: have we come out of the window with one of the best two squads in the league (on paper). Yes = good window; No = bad window.

Don't forget we always buy one season ahead... So we're now targeting ideal players for next season's PL relegation quest...

I know I'm "obsessed" and can't "let it go" but felt compelled to share this one from a Rangers fan... 😂

Yep, or a search for "Norwich" on the NOW TV home page will take you straight there too 👍
-
Yep, if one goes and one stays, I'm much happier this way around than t'other 👍🏻

Assuming he doesn't get hacked off for effectively blocking a move back to the Premier League of course... Caveat: He strikes me as the sort of character who wouldn't throw a strop but it's not unheard of. If we keep him AND his head's in the right place then, yep, a big positive 👍🏻

Whereas, under Sport Republic, they don't give a toss how many spoons they lose as they can always buy another set from Poundland at the drop of a hat.... vive la difference

Despite all his faults, don't forget that a certain Katharina Liebherr never wanted him to leave.... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/southampton-fc-appointment-of-chairman-1296942.aspx/ "With great regret we have accepted the resignation of Mr Cortese. He has done a wonderful job at the club and we very much wanted him to stay"

I've only seen one poster turn their nose up at Azaz... Maybe there are more that I've missed..... I get that it's natural for people to highlight the opinion of the vocal minority to try and emphasise a point, but calling it an "outcry" is stretching the reality somewhat... even Batman is happy with him... now that's more worthy of being highlighted, surely...

"Momentum curve"....

Indeed. For all his faults (of which there were no doubt several), he gave fans a sense of hope that we could compete with the 'big boys'. None of this 'be happy with what we've got' small club mentality that Semmens brought to the table. Yes, I accept that it transpired that the 'empire' he was building was probably unsustainable (do we have categoric, rather than anecdotal, evidence of that btw?) but I'd swap his no-nonsense approach with the Sport Republic 'experiment' every day of the week.

Anyone know if he's still at AC Milan...?
-
I cant believe that for a moment.... a club with automatic promotion ambitions, a first choice goalkeeper ranked 19th in the division and a strike force with the lowest xG-to-goals conversion rate, what's not to like...? #chill,it'sonlybanter

Ones that don't also play in the u21s (I guess?)

Loan in a new first choice I guess?

According to this 2024 article, a likely reason Spors didn't get the Newcastle DoF job is that his philosophy was/is that clubs should aim to buy players that play in the same country, and his lack of experience in England counted against him. Not something that discouraged Sport Republic from employing him then...? Could this partly explain our slow transfer window activity so far...? https://www.geordiebootboys.com/news/how-johannes-spors-may-have-talked-himself-out-of-newcastle-united-sporting-director-job/
