  1. Not if the club appoint a manager with the same pressing philosophy.
  2. What do you expect them to say? 🤔
  3. We weren't shit then. Late 2019 is when the good form that lasted over a year started. From 23rd November 2019 onwards until the start of 2021 Saints had a sustained period of good football and a lot of points picked up until Hasenhuttl.
  4. I don't think anyone did that. There is a difference between saying someone isn't a bad owner and someone is a good owner. They are not the same thing. Gao is a 'meh' owner due to the lack of investment, that doesn't mean he is a bad owner and he certainly is not a good owner.
  5. Read my post in the context of what it was replying to. I was replying a post saying Brighton dominated us. I did not dispute the possession was not effective. My point was that we had most of the ball so were not being dominated. What we did with the ball I agree with you was fucking useless! 😃
  6. It was still the majority of the ball regardless of whether it was effective or not at attacking. Therefore Brighton were not dominating us.
  7. Yes, it is a huge stretch! Howe was on a £3m per year contract at Bournemouth. His stock is still relatively high, he is not going to join a team with a wage budget of £2.5m for their entire playing staff!
  8. No they didn't. We were in control as 60% of the possession shows but lacked creativity and struggled to break them down.
  9. No chance Howe will be going to Portsmouth, he has a standing in the game a long way above teams struggling to get out of League One. His wages demands would far surpass Pompey's manager wage budget by some distance!
  10. 1) Which players being sold do you think were a sign the club is poorly run? 2) What would you suggest should have been done with those players instead? Let their contracts run down so their value becomes £0?
  11. Selling your best players is not a sign of being terribly run, it can be quite the opposite and a sign you are doing things right. If we sign a player who has the potential to be good enough for a bigger club that shouldn't be a stick to hit the club with. It is a sign that in that case the recruitment process worked well. We will never hold on to players who turn out to be good enough for the 'big 6', it is unrealistic to think we can compete financially with them. Even Leicester who are doing extremely well sell their top players.
  12. The key difference you continue to ignore is for over a year Saints were superb under Hasenhuttl. At no point under Puel, Pellegrino or Hughes did they have Saints playing that well for a sustained period of time.
  13. He frequently changes it towards the end of games when losing, those changes just aren't working. Today for example we switched from 4222 to 433 for most of the final third of the game.
  14. I want it to work out with Hasenhuttl, but it is becoming harder to defend him with each performance at the moment. If the worst happened, I wouldn't mind Saints making a move for Howe. It would split the fanbase, but I think it would be a good match.
  15. Not really as it requires more than Fulham getting 39 points for 39 points to be the cut off.
  16. We won't need 39 points.
  17. He did change the system today, it did not work but he did change it. When Redmond and Djenepo came on Saints were playing a 433 system. Adams upfront on his own, with Redmond and Djenepo wide. Ward-Prowse sitting deep with Armstrong and Diallo central.
  18. Ok, even if that bit is 'nonsense'. What about the rest of my reply and the answer to the two questions I asked.
  19. What a shame. He was doing such a great job for us...!
  20. What does that achieve? Losing out on a transfer fee, an unmotivated player for a season and future potential players thinking they'll also be put in same situation. So where is the upside that outweighs that?
  21. Hardball doesn't work when players only have a year left of contract. Either we sell cheap or keep an unmotivated player for a year and he leaves for nothing.
  22. Levy isn't doing anything wrong. It is sensible business to get a player at this point in his contract. For what purpose would Spurs need to 'tap up' Vestergaard? What could they possibly tell him that he wouldn't already know?
  23. Bournemouth also play in mid week, so Saints should be fresher.
  24. How about Man Utd away when Diallo and Romeu were not available to play in central midfield?
