- Welsh football league formed 1904 - Merthyr formed 1909 - Swansea City formed 1912 - Newport County formed 1912

Vestergaard only goes upfront in the final few minutes when we are losing as a last throw of the dice. He is there for someone to hit a long ball to.

Anyone starting to look nervously at the table?

Not if we have more points/better GD than at least three other teams at the end of the season. -
Burnley, Palace and maybe Leeds. So not many.
-
Both Forster and Gunn were highlighted in bold in that post.
-
He signed a 5 year contract in 2018, so expires on 30th June 2023 Stoke according to their local paper have apparently agreed to extend the loan to the end of next season.
-
What about it is embarassing to you? How many of the clubs above us do you think we should be above?
-
It remains possible. Of course it won't be easy as it is 5 points and we are in terrible form.
-
You claimed Saints were "incapable" of showing those qualities. So that is clearly incorrect given they did vs the team you are praising.
-
Have you forgotten how we recently beat Burnley 3-2 having been losing to them 2-0? Was that not showing those qualities?
-
Last season they were one place and only 2 points above us. If they win today by a decent margin they are only above us on goal difference? How is that comfortably? Burnley winning means Wolves and Burnley remain catchable for Saints. Wolves winning means we probably wouldn't catch Wolves.

A calendar year is not simply a 'blip'.

He knows well every person on the planet who plays football?

That is quite a sweeping generalisation! 🙄
-
That didn't answer the question.
-
You've avoided the question again.
-
His wage isn't the only factor, you also need to consider budgets transfer & wage budget and squad quality.
-
You would have a point... if Spurs squad quality was on a similar level to us. However... it is not. They have a far larger income, transfer budget and wage budget.
-
Nope I did not, as you used the word 'only'. At no point have I said it is the only time he can be judged.
-
Losing the best player from your team is always going to make a difference. Ings is a long way above any alternative striker options we have.
-
1) Who said that? Because I didn't. 2) No you aren't, you've written him off throughout this thread and others.
-
Can you explain why my points aren't valid?
-
Try answering it now, especially given how you were quite happy to write him off now, so why not explain which of the 13 clubs above us it is disappointing to be lower than. I'd say it is one, two at most.
-
We were one stupid Djenepo tackle away from a point vs a team with a vastly bigger income, transfer budget and wage budget than us. So even though we were less effective in the second half, it was very fine margins that lost the game. That doesn't mean it was a tactical error. An inch or two the other way and that 90th minute penalty would have been a free kick and probably an away point.

A question for those that want Hasenhuttl out... Of the 13 teams above us, which should Hasenhuttl be disappointed not to be higher than? I'd say only Crystal Palace and possibly Leeds (given they are newly promoted but have spent quite a bit). So hardly a poor season when looked at until this point as a whole rather than just the last 4 months.
