Have you considered the hardships faced by black working class people could be for both their race and class?
-
I've already pointed out to you that last summer, 6 months into a pandemic we spent more on players than we sold. So what exactly in the accounts are you basing your claim?
-
'Republic' would need a different definition in this other universe.
-
The 'Republic' in 'Republic of Ireland' is a big clue they are not and can't be a home nation! ππ
-
Β£30m for a 26 year old, Premier League captain on the fringes of the England squad and has 269 top flight games under his belt and 4 years left on his contract is very cheap! Championship players are being sold for Β£30m+, a Β£30m bid shouldn't be remotely tempting for Saints.
-
The evidence shows otherwise. We spent more than we brought in last summer (Β£37m+ spent), despite being 6 months into a pandemic and having Gao as an owner. It also doesn't mean you sell you're captain when he has 4 years left on his contract. Situation was different for Hojbjerg with only a year left and his value dropped due to that.
-
What about the club's financial position means we need to sell players massively under their value? The repayments for the Covid loan the club took out aren't due to start for years from now. What evidence is there that the club can only afford the loan through player sales rather than other sources of income?

One of them isn't a home nation and is a foreign country.
-
Yep, it whooshed over your head that my post was agreeing with/supporting your post! I wasn't disagreeing with you! Quite the opposite! π
-
What relevance does Villa being European Champions 39 years ago have to football in 2021? Β£30m is the price of a player after a good Championship season... not a 26 year old Premier League captain with 4 years left on his contract.
-
Because uprooting your young family is a big thing for what is only a slightly upwards move. It won't make a big difference to his career like a move to the big 6 would. He has already finished 6th, 8th, 7th and 8th in the Premier League with Saints. Villa at best will only match that. He may as well wait and see if a really big team ever want him.
-
Our superb form during 2020 was without Rohl and with his replacement.
-
We've relatively recently paid that kind of price for backup centre backs (Salisu), central midfielders (Diallo), keepers (Gunn) and wingers (Djenepo) and others... so why not fullbacks?
-
That isn't what a 'sitter' is. A 'sitter' in football is an incredibly easy chance.
-
It is you that jumps on me on this forum most of the time... not the other way round! π
-
Two counts as plural and meets the definition of 'players'. There have been other youth players in the past 11 years I've been on Twitter but they've left the club. I attract an older audience... hence the many backroom staff and local/national journalists rather than the players. π
-
You've also missed that I was using argumentum ad populum back at you to make a point. π
-
What is your twitter name then Mr Turkish?
-
I said even said "It has mainly been a small number of youth team players, none of the first team." But your agenda meant you ignored reading/understanding that. π
-
Why have you chosen to only take out Saints players from that list and not the long list of Saints staff and sports journalists I mentioned... along with the thousands of Saints fans! It is almost as if you have an agenda to cherry pick what you want! π
-
Kameron Ledwidge and Jake Hesketh Both still technically Saints players, until they are released on 30th June. Lots of other youth players have followed in the past, no first team players. The list of Saints backroom staff and national and local sports journalists is longer.
-
It has mainly been a small number of youth team players, none of the first team. But in terms of the backroom staff, other staff members at the club and journalists... - the 1st team strength and conditioning coach - brand and content director at Saints - senior youth development coach - 1st team keeper coach - 1st team chef - 1st team kitman - head of 1st team performance analaysis - a youth team scout - former player care officer Hugo Scheckter - director at former sponsor Veho - senior groundsman at Saints - former head of Saints media, now with the England team - the agency that does many videos for Saints - chief football writer at the Press Association - former Athletic Saints reporter - plus thousands of Saints fans
-
You have a strange use of 'sitters' if you think either of those were easy chances.
-
@Turkish Let's continue where we left off in the thread that was closed on the main forum with your claim I'm a 'twat on twitter'. Why do you think many sports journalists, Saints players, Saints backroom staff and thousands of Saints fans follow me on Twitter? π€ If I was a 'twat' as you claim... they wouldn't bother. π π
