Saints apparently leading the race for Adam Armstrong. "Southampton who are at the front of the queue at the moment, with initial talks already opened with intermediaries." https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1443507/Southampton-Newcastle-West-Ham-Championship-Blackburn-Adam-Armstrong-Premier-League

Reasons why we won't get relegated next season
Matthew Le God replied to benjii's topic in The Saints
What is that supposed to mean? He'll have a squad of team mates along side him and he has shown he is more than capable of performing and scoring at this level. A lot of teams in the league would love their second best striker to have scored 9 league goals like Adams did in 2020/21. -

Can you link to the article and place in the article where it says that? -
@CB Fry is correct, Koeman did confirm that Mane was his choice, but also that the club were monitoring him as well independent of Koeman.
-
Both can be true at the same time and people from the club (including Koeman) admitted as much. It does not have to be one reason why the club signed them.

You have a woman's tears SuperSaint!

I'm fully aware of bow and stern, but it is still the front and back of the ship and those terms also work.
-
How did he manage to pick up so many Premier League points in 2020 then? 5th highest in calendar year! Or finish 2nd and 6th in a major league like the Bundesliga with a newly promoted club? Sure we haven't been good in 2021, but let's not write him off as tactically inept when he has previously shown he isn't.

Hitting the iceberg straight on would have been fine and they probably could have made it to land with only damage to the front. Turning caused a big problem as it ripped a hole through multiple compartments down the side of the ship. 😉
-
This is nonsense. If you just take goalscoring... Sterling scored 65 Premier League goals vs Redmond's 13 goals over the last 4 seasons.

It is from Football Insider and their clickbait dartboard of news.

Says the man who critises someone using petty insults but uses them himself constantly!

For only four league games.

I'd rather not have to watch this all season
-
No it hasn't. It is currently the 6th most popular story on the BBC news website.

There are upwards arrows on the red stripes. They balance out the downward arrows on the white stripes = mid table 😉

Stadium Upgrades - Block 31 Kingsland..
Matthew Le God replied to miserableoldgit's topic in The Saints
I'm puzzled why you appear to think ticket prices in the Championship or League One would be the same as in the Premier League? If we were relegated the prices would drop proportionally across the stadium relative to their current levels. With block 31 remaining among the highest in the stadium but significantly lower than they will be next season. -

Our home form wasn't the problem last season. We actually did pretty well at home. 10th best record in the league, +3 GD in the home games and only 6 points away from having the 3rd best home record. -
1) How does them starting an investigation jump to 'Trump being proved right'? 2) How have you determined liklihood?
-
No, it is terrible. Uses a dartboard to generate clickbait.

Free samples he nicked from the office of old employers? -
The wage bill is in the publicly available accounts on the Companies House website. It is not as large as it is with first team players like those listed on Championship level wages.
