  1. We scored a similar amount of goals to the other relegated clubs in the Championship (Saints 87, Leicester 89, Leeds 81) but conceded 63 goals under Russell Martin (22 more than Leicester, 20 more than Leeds). Perhaps a better defensive structure would help address that and our top Championship level attacking players will still provide a goal threat.
  2. 3 centre back systems are not automatically defensive and risk-averse.
  3. I'd predict he'd be sent off, which wouldn't help our chances.
  4. There is an article. He only started work two days ago, I'd guess interviews will come once settled in. https://www.southamptonfc.com/en/news/article/johannes-spors-appointed-as-group-technical-director#:~:text=Southampton Football Club is delighted,Director of the 777 Group.
  5. We are a shambles in the PL, but we remain light years ahead of Pompey in terms of player quality.
  6. Hopefully not. What should gave happened in the summer of 2024 was the selling of all our Championship level players and looked to upgrade them. As we still have them, makes sense to use them to get another promotion, but then summer 2026 we need to be ruthless and get rid of them.
  7. The Juric version of Sulemana is a handful and nightmare for defenders. Sure the end product needs some more work, but he is PL level.
  8. Perhaps it is... Because 'We march on' does the job! 😇
  9. Why do you think that? I think it is more likely we will have a season of winning most games we play. We'll have one of the top 3 budgets in the league and one of the best squads. It should be far more enjoyable than the 2 league wins we've had this season.
  10. Why is anything more than 'We march on' needed?
  11. New chairman, new sporting director. Give them a chance to make some changes before writing them off in those roles.
  12. Walker-Peters, Ramsdale, Dibling, Sulemana would also all get in other PL teams. A massive clear out is not needed until we get promoted again. Most are good enough for what we need next season, so no need to get rid yet. The issue is they won't be good enough when back in the PL.
  13. It is not due to the Spurs/Newcastle links, it is due to how the clubs he worked at in Netherlands, Italy and Germany did during his time there. No guarantee he will replicate it, but it is a promising sign that he is competent at recruitment. Something we've missed!
  14. They couldn't afford his transfer fee or wages.
  15. Sure I have, but not on this. @Turkish avoiding his errors and throwing petty insults.
  16. Rather than confused emoji @Turkish try responding to the 3 points.
  17. I've already shown why that is nonsense. See post above.
  18. You make this too easy! 1) That is not his current value in the database as of Feb 2025. That data is from either October 2023 or January 2024 at the latest! He has progressed a lot since then. It is over a year ago, possibly 18 months ago. 2) That is not how much he would cost to buy in the game last season. The values shown in game are different from what it would take to get a club to accept in the game. 3) You avoided my questions regarding Transfermarkt's low valuations of Dibling and Fernandes
  19. @Turkish transfermarkt value Fernandes at €15m Do you think that is an accurate valuation? Would you be happy if we sold him for that in the summer? They consistently undervalue players. Particularly young ones and the website is riddled with factual errors. They are not reliable in the slightest!
  20. That website has nonsense values. Completely out of touch with current values of players. Completely unreliable to determine value. For example they think Dibling is only worth €22m. Would you be happy if we only got that much for him?
  21. I'm guessing you got it from Transfermarkt.co.uk ? @Turkish A very unreliable way to determine player value. They undervalue young players vs current market values.
  22. That is not a methodology. Those are factors that could be used within a methodology, but are not in themselves a methodology.
  23. On what methodology are you basing that €600k valuation?
