Yep, key difference is Solak has money and Cortese thought he did.
-
Nicola Cortese commissioned AFL architects to come up with designs long before those Leicester plans came out.

When has a Southampton owner ever said the intention is to spend hundreds of millions on the stadium and facilities before this week? -

When was the last time the Southampton owner stated the intention to spend hundreds of millions on capacity and facilities upgrades at the stadium? -

Dragan Solak confirms they are looking to invest "hundreds of millions" on "changes on the capacity of the stadium and facilities around". 😇 The architect renders will be interesting to see. -

We only have a tiny sample of 1 player that the new recruitment team can be judged on.
-
Not that we didn't know already, as Saints even in the Championship have a significantly larger income and fanbase than the other Sport Republic clubs, but Dragan Solak states in the BBC Radio Solent interview Saints are the "main club" in the Sport Republic group. Even if one of the others made the Champions League Saints as a Premier League team would have a bigger income. He also states the intention to spend hundreds of millions on the development surrounding St Mary's & stadium capacity increase.
-
The whole Sport Republuc project falls apart without a keystone club. So little incentive to sell Saints at a point when their value is lower than they've spent on it.

Would you prefer radio silence from the owner?

Keeping Track of the Contracts 2024-25

The retained list is on the Premier League website... https://share.google/it2dEq3LhPdNmjooG And so is the released list... https://share.google/vO7QGqr0O5e7sEfZy -
Not giving individual wages. Just ballpark numbers for certain roles at different levels of the game. That doesn't break GDPR.
-
It is very tricky to work out! I use a range of things... - media reports - club accounts to see total wage bill and work back from that - Sports Interactive has a lot of football industry contacts who can help with ballpark figures in the online database guidlines that researchers use - Some researchers work for clubs which helps Lots of guesswork! Many will be incorrect, but hopefully not by too much.
-
The official Premier League site does not list player wages.
-
Those websites haven't got a clue. They pluck numbers out of mid air. I've even seen some take their numbers from FM, and I'm the one making those up!
-
The wages you listed look like nonsense. Plus last time we were relegated the Athletic reported the players had 40% wage reduction clauses.

The transfer window is not currently open! It was open from 1st June until 10th June. But it has since been shut again for the last week and won't open again until Monday 16th June. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c2kqx3724zdo

No I did not. I talked about how scoring tap ins regularly is a skill.
-
Nothing wrong with a tap in. It is a skill in itself to be in the right position to score them regularly ala Gary Lineker!

The Benefits of the Sport Republic Group Model (Split)
Matthew Le God replied to AlexLaw76's topic in The Saints
Try looking longer term than only the current season. All 4 of Traoré, Kayi Sanda, Juan and Matsuki have all gained experience and value. For relatively little outlay. Sure it didn't help us stay up this season, but nor is it the reason we went down. It may help us stay up next time to have players like them closer to readiness for the 1st team. Or are you suggesting we never do anything for the medium or long term? -
Both still happen at most pro clubs in the UK and are used in recruitment decisions to support each other.

Would he really have been tested that much by West Brom and Leeds to the extent we wouldn't win? McCarthy wasn't particularly overstretched in any of the playoff games. We beat both with Bazunu in goal during the season. How did that happen?
