The video of it will probably be on Saints Player later today.
-
I doubt it. The combined wages, transfer fees, agent fees and signing on fees of those five players would exceed that of the Wayne Thomas deal.

My money is on the latter!

The transfer window isn't just for those out of contract. The Premier League rulebook state the window opens at midnight on the last day of the season. Hence why there have already been a number of deals between the last game of 2010/11 and 1st July.
-
Yep, Nick is correct. Transfer window officially opens at midnight on the day of the last game of the season i.e. the last playoff final in May 2011.

"Fish" is Joseph Mills nickname, because as a child when he tried to say "Joseph" it sounded like "Fish".

But as I said, every fan is surely aware of this existing aren't they? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/TicketsHome/0,,10280,00.html It isn't exactly hidden away on the OS, there is a ticket tab on the top bar. It links quickly to this page... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/TicketNews/0,,10280~1635574,00.html

All they have is my address, like with most on their database. If they really wanted to contact the fanbase they should do it by mail. However, I think it is unlikely that someone that spends 23 days+ at St Mary's each year and hundreds of pounds is likely to forget season tickets are done in the summer or know that they can visit the ticket page of the OS to know the details.

Okay, so it was a "lighthearted thread". But that is the purpose of the muppet forum, hence why it was moved there. You deliberately tried to mislead people with the thread title "Nice Signing". If the main forum was flooded with people like that, this place really would die as the main forum would be a mess.

Kettering Town V Saints XI, 28th July 7:45 pm
Matthew Le God replied to Northant Saint's topic in The Saints
That is the whole point of it, to "develop" them. Every year the club has three types of friendlies... - 1st team friendlies - Southampton XI friendlies - and various youth team friendlies -
I wonder how Crazy Diamond and Hypochondriac (both such apt usernames) are going to cope when they see my posts quoted by someone else for the first time...?
-
Simon Peach, a journalist, posts on these forums and has better contacts than most of us at Saints said on Twitter this evening... #SaintsFC have yet to receive a bid for Alex Chamberlain from Arsenal, as I understand it. Not expecting any movement anytime soon either.

Selective editing, so I can have it framed.

I'm glad that is over.

For your own good (and mine) can you put me on your ignore list? You clearly don't like my posts, so putting me on your ignore list will stop me having to read inane and petty insults like this any more.
-
You attempted to mock something I do in my spare time, so a little hypocritical of you. It is clearly wrong to suggest Saints are Arsenal's feeder club in any shape or form. One notable player transfer in 25 years doesn't really count in any way. If you are that offended by my posts, why have you gone this long without blocking me?
-
Well then, that is the problem with those that "report on football for a living", they write things like "Southampton are Arsenal's feeder club", even though there has only be one notable transfer in the last 20 odd years between the two sides. It is nothing more than sensationalism, do you write for a tabloid?
-
http://www.blick.ch/sport/fussball/international/transfer-ticker-sommer-2011-174573 It may not happen, but still it is a sign of activity and standard of player being looked at. A very quick, 22 year old, Nigerian-born Swiss striker that had a lot of game time during the Euro Under 21 tournament this summer. A lot of people on this forum will have also seen him play (for a couple of minutes), as he came on at Wembley against England senior side in June for the Euro 2012 qualifiers. Obligatory Youtube highlight video...
-
Is it not boring to say things like "Saints are a feeder club for Arsenal", when you have nothing to back that up? Walcott left 4 years ago, with Saints under different management and ownership.
-
Okay Selling one player to them four years ago and another twenty seven years ago, doesn't make Saints a feeder club.
