It’s not pure profit, we paid £10m for his services, in fact I seem to remember something about not trying to rip Bordeaux off because of their then financial woes. Even if Bordeaux now no longer exists, I’m sure their creditors do…..
-
They should have sponsored by Chelsea on their shirts……
-
Don’t tell them…
-
Not to mention Wan- Bissaka for £18m, but apparently they can’t afford his wages……!
-
At least he’s now got a part to play…..

Newcastle Promoted with Brighton about 5 years ago…..

£27m is a lot of dosh for a player who is the same age as Ings…..
-
There must come a point where if no decent offers are received, it would make more sense to retain him. Rather like Che last season…..
-
Ivan Toney……
-
and yet Danny Ings only a few months younger is valued at only £6m……..!

Alexander Sørloth….

Don’t forget THB…..!

That’s a brutal opening couple of months, until they play Oxford. However Oxford always seem to get a result against Pompey…..!

-
Lol - that wouldn’t have taken very long to watch…..
-
Hopefully KWP will be rested and raring to go in August…..

We were the last visitors to Main Road as well, and came away with a 1-0 win courtesy of Michael Svennson….

I’m afraid it’s disappointment for our friends down the road, they were so certain that the wait was over for derby matches to begin again…..😀
-
I imagine Che’s likely suitors Wolves, Everton etc are so worried by their FFP situation that the money they are offering is a lot less than he anticipated, or would have got last summer. So hence why we are still in the hunt…..

I see they are creaming themselves on various websites because the owners have spent £15m on stadium improvements, claiming it shows the ambition and commitment of the owners. Seemingly oblivious that it actually represents the bare minimum to keep Fratton Park viable as a football stadium. Without this spend the capacity would be down to about 10k……!

This scenario reminds me somewhat of the Walcott return, not really sure that worked, particularly as to what it actually cost….
