Shame I missed that. I'm fairly sure all the people on there would have been Saints fans (and by definition football fans) so I'm not sure what your point is?
-
Are the majority of TSW members eligible for free school meals then? If they are then you're right but if not then you didn't read the article properly and have put yourself in the "thickie" group as you call it.
-
Good call and while we're at it why not a whale as well? We need to save them too....
-
Proof that the right wing football demographic has changed? Who'd have thought football fans would attract the liberal tree hugging types?

We've had this argument countless times but....... it's impossible to say if the monarchy pulls in more than it costs (my argument is it's irrelevant) heriditary rule is an outdated antiquidated idea but a lot of people will argue that those powers they inherit they never use (in which case why have them and why are they are check on parliament?) people will then say rather the Queen (or King) than a president. That's only one model we could follow and doesn't mean we can't have a proper argument on whether it's right that in this age of democracy we should allow people to inherit rights rather than earn them. You can tell what side of the debate I'm on.

NO EXCUSES FFS! ha ha thanks though. -
I need to retrieve some data from a three linked tables that includes null values but also do some counting stuff. It's an oracle database. It should be nice and easy for some of you.

As someone else posted earlier - there are no rules for this. I'll contradict myself now by saying IMO to be a legend then you have to be completely identified with Southampton and only Southampton. When you think of Channon you don't think Pompey, Man City, Norwich, Newcastle (I think) - you think Saints. For whatever reason be it skill, goals, dedication, loyalty, longevity the fans need to identify that player as "one of us". Keegan and Shearer were great players but they'll never be Southampton legends. There is another rung slightly slower on the ladder - that of cult hero. It would be difficult to suggest Benali is a legend but I'm sure he'd be happy with cult hero.

You're right in that Pacquiao wasn't on the radar but Cotto certainly was. Two maybe three years ago that was the fight we all wanted and between them PBF and Cotto had all but destroyed any other challengers in the welterweight division. PBF wanted none of it and I'm not convinced he wants to fight someone who has a genuine chance of beating him.
-
Well seeing as we already have a good squad for this division then I'd say the most obvious deficiencies we currently have is natural wide players. Paine, MLT, Armstrong could all do a job for us. Case and Hammond would be a fantastic midfield though.
-
I can't complain about the result - Pacman was just too good. Any doubts about his ability at welterweight are definitely gone now and that performance was much more impressive than PBF's against Marquez. PBF V Pacman has to be the fight that everyone wants to see now so expect Mayweather to retire again until somebody easier comes along......I expect Manny to move up to heavyweight and take on Haye instead. The little fella would probably win that as well.
-
Probably a 1st round KO!
-
It's taking ages isn't it?
-
I really want Cotto to win this one but I just can't pick the outcome. On the one hand I think Pacman has benefited from fighting an aging weight drained DLH and a shot fighter in Hatton and he just won't cope with the first natural welter weight he's come up against. But then I look at Cotto and think whether he's really recovered from the Margarito fight? Cotto in his prime takes Manny and for that reason, sod it I'm going for Cotto. I'm undecided about whether to stay up for this or wait for the 9am replay. Anyone know who's on the undercard? And will Jim "consistently wrong" Watt be commentating?

Probably Souness's first signing and a really bad one. I remember seeing him in a pre-season friendly at oxford and he tried a headed clearance from a ball two foot off the ground. It would have should have been comical but instead it was just sad.

To play devil's advocate for a moment one of the reasons we're getting good attendances is because of the sensible ticket prices. I'm getting a season ticket next week just because the prices are not stupid anymore. I hate to think what the cost of the Wigan v Fulham game was but I bet it wasn't worth it. On a better note the other reason we've got good attendance figures is because we're playing well and winning.

I'm not Scottish but "flower of scotland" beats anything the english have by miles. I wish we had an equivalent. -
Well Freddie Roach is picking a Haye victory and he's rarely wrong. However, I see Valuev as just too big. How on earth does Haye get close? And for a big man Valuev does have fast hands and a good jab although not the power his size suggests. If we're comparing Holyfield with Haye there's one thing Holyfield has that Haye doesn't and that's a fantastic chin. If he can show that same resilience then he may have a chance but it's asking a lot to duck, dive, hit and not be hit and avoid being smothered by a monster of a man for 12 rounds and get a result in Germany. I just can't see Haye winning this one but I'd be delighted if he did. The heavyweight division could do with smaller guys showing some skill instead of ponderous brutes but this is one hell of a challenge. My prediction - Valuev KO in round 9.

You really need to move on, it's not only tiresome but also insensitive and inappropriate. Everyone knows your views and you're welcome to them - this isn't the right thread to repeat them though.

That's really bad news, Kevin can't be that old which makes it worse. All the best to Kevin and his family. He was a good player for us and a solid professional. I'd definitely go to a benefit match or be willing to contribute to a fund. I remember just after he retired that he was joining a B&Q management course so he wasn't one of the "never have to work again" generation of footballers.

Now as far as I'm concerned the first thing they can do for me is chuck all their caps, all their medals and all the their pots and pans in the bin because they've not won any of them fairly. they've won 'em all by bloody cheating.
-
I blame McENEMY, Lowe and Matt Le Tiss for this shocking thread. Oh and can we have Hoddle back please?

If it's OK to call this labour party socialist then is it OK to call the Tories facists?
