  1. Chez, you need to fix the spelling on the original post for this thread - it's Fonte, not Font.
  2. It's the F.A. Cup - you always play to win!
  3. "Each team" and "per team" mean the same thing!
  4. Come on, Saints! Let's start the new year with a win.
  5. I have the two-volume set The Annotated Sherlock Holmes (in hardcover) edited by William Baring-Gould. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Annotated-Sherlock-Holmes-William-Baring-Gould/dp/0517502917/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1261936877&sr=1-5
  6. Some funny stuff in this web page from BBC Sport. http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/chrischarles/2009/12/quotes_of_the_decade_part_i.html My favourite: "I'd have given my right arm to be a pianist." [Newcastle boss Bobby Robson when asked what would have been his dream job outside of football.]
  7. I cry every time we score, too - tears of relief.
  8. Yeah, it hiccups about once a minute. Annoying.
  9. A good move by Exeter down the left, getting behind James.
  10. And a "chrunching" tackle from Schneiderlin.
  11. Game on - COYR!
  12. Merrington says Jaidi has been rested - not injured.
  13. Commentator says it's sold out!
  14. Bialkowski James Trotman Perry Harding Antonio Schneiderlin Hammond Lallana Lambert Connolly Subs: Davis, Thomas, Martin, Mills, Wotton, Gobern, Papa Waigo
  15. Lambert, then Lallana, then Hammond.
  16. [ooops! Sorry - I repeated this post by mistake.]
  17. Best (that I've been able to see on TV over here) was the 4-0 home win against Spurs. We played them off the park. Worst was the 4-1 drubbing at Fratton. Not only were we soundly defeated - but it was also a tremendously demoralising event. A pivotal loss in the slide down.
  18. Merry Christmas to you all from Saints' fans here in Canada. :smt111 :drinkers:
  19. I found this quote from Tony Blair in the newspaper today, under the heading "Thought Du Jour": "The art of leadership is saying no, not saying yes. It is very easy to say 'yes'." [That's why he said "yes" to Bush?!]

  21. Answer #1 - 0 years Answer #2 - 10 years My question for you: on what date did this decade begin? BTW, "proper" is an adjective, not an adverb. You meant 'properly', eh?!
  22. The decade doesn't end until the end of next year. HTH
  23. Thanks for that. It takes me back to the glory days of English folk-rock in the 70s. By the way, Maddy Prior did a lovely album of Christmas music with The Carnival Band in 1987, called Tapestry of Carols. It's a collection of ancient Christmas carols from around Europe. The Carnival Band play replicas of medieval period instruments. If you like traditional carols, and/or are sick of the slick, commercial Christmas stuff, check this out.
  24. The game is not over yet. We'll play to the final whistle.
