Where have I said the sanction should be disproportionate? Do you think receiving a driving ban for drink driving is a deterrent to some? If not why aren’t we all doing it?

Totally agree with all of that but until judgement is passed none of us know what they see as a deterrent

I got shouted down yesterday for suggesting the “punishment” will need to act as a deterrent for other clubs - so agreed we will (unfortunately) be made an example of - just depends where that bar is set ie is it seen as being proportionate.

Easier to blame everyone else and deflect from the clubs short comings which, Gibbon sorry Gibbo has overseen. Would have helped if they had been able to keep hold of the manager that had them in 2nd and challenging Cov.

I do not want to see us royally fucked I’m just pointing out that they are setting a precedent and that 300k would be a walk in the park to most champ teams given that it’s less than 10 weeks wages for one player. So I’m trying to gauge what would be proportionate is that ok with you?

So given your mitigating comments (all not relevant to the rule btw) what’s your best guess if it needs to be proportionate but is also setting a precedent? 300k,400k,500k? Plus points deduction? im not holding my breath because as is always with you you just Mather on and not really have an opinion.

Even more reason to set a harsh one no? 300k is a slap in the wrist from Barry humphries.

They are setting a precedent. That precedent needs to ensure that other EFL teams think twice before being caught observing within 72 hours.

That’s not really a deterrent for other EFL teams tho.
