For those criticising VW go watch the game again and see the work he does OFF the ball, tracking runners, taking angles to block passes etc. There's good reason were a lot harder to beat than we used to be and he's one of them. Where he is more of an issue is at home where we have to break down teams, there i think there's a case to be made for Cork, Davis or JWP to come in but again if were hard to beat than why change?

Are you on a wind up, he was our best attacker first half, give him a few games and a his first goal and he'll be awesome for us. He's a class act. You have to know bob hope about the game not to see that

Was great to see when we scored the team spirit, Osvaldo was right in the middle buzzing, be great for the confidence

The back 5 were IMMENSE today, Boruc is the best keeper weve had since Shilton and if there's a better CB in this league right now than Lovren you'd be hard pressed to find him, he looks like a 30m player he's that good. Shaw, awesome again today (cant help fear a really big club will be in for him soon though) and Morgan / Lallana were also good See VW got a lot of stick but he does a lot of work off the ball, covers a lot of ground Big up for Steven Davis as well, thought all last season he was one of our better players and when he comes on he never lets the team down plus his quick passing helps our momentum. Far rather he came on than Ramirez and glad MP feels the same way its beer o clock !!

We have had so many chances the last 3 or 4 games, need to really start putting a few of these away

Sadly football as a sport at this level isn't about fans or passion or coaching or anything, its all about money. Owners, players, stadiums, sponsors, investors There was a lot to like about being an L1 club where it was all about players and fans and now it's all rather soulless Football will end up eating itself though, cant sustain the level of investment and the rich will get richer, the poor will get poorer. There will be a euro super league within the next 10 years as TV, Sponsors and Owners will demand it

I'd agree, thought VW Osvaldo and JWP when he came on were our best players second half

2 defensive midfielders isnt working as MS looks lost in there when VW plays, JWP needs to be starting (he's better already than Lallana and JRod IMO), and SRL can float between the midfield and Osvaldo Boruc Clyne Fonte Lovren Shaw ----------VW----------- JWP---Morgan--Lallana --Osvaldo--Lambert

The problem he has is not his problem IMO, its because when he gets the ball he does look forward for the pass but there is often little in front of him so he's having to check. Lallana, JRod and MS were woeful against WHU, they should have been offering for a short pass for Wanyama but never did. I thought he did better second half in being more positive in getting forward but we need to start going to more of a 4-1-3-2 type of formation with MS further forward and JWP in the team (who's a better player now that Lallana is IMO). MS looks lost next to him, possibly because he's so good in that def midfield role Boruc - Clyne Lovren, Fonte, Shaw - VW - JWP, MS, JRod/Lallana, Osv,SRL

I can assure you this game has very little quality about it on either side, albeit we look like the better team Not sure about Wanyama,, think Cork is a better player personally

Wonder if we may go 4-3-3 with Lallana a little deeper and J-Rod and Osvaldo playing either side of Lambert, think that's a good formation with those front 3 rotating

That really would be a poor move, Clyne was exceptional last year and, as of now, is head and shoulders better than Chambers If we're on some sort of mission to have to play 3 or 4 youngsters a game, that's a dangerous game to play at the expense of your best players

They will park the bus and litter the game with niggly fouls hoping for a draw or a set piece. We've really struggled at this sort of game (think Sunderland) and need to learn how to break teams down. Clyne and Shaw and get some width and we dont need 2 defensive midfielders so im hoping for a 4-3-3 type formation with SRL, Osvaldo and JRod up top and Morgan, VW and Lallana in midfield Osvaldo and Ramirez both red card candidates as they will be wound up the whole game

This for me, seems a consensus about dropping SRL -i'd like to see Ramirez and Osvaldo get a run of games together given they cost us £26m

MoanU have had a shocker, way overpaid for Fellaini and gone into the season with Giggs and Cleverly as starting midfielders, Moyes under pressure already

From what I saw we really missed our full backs, they are so important in the formation we play to provide width (see Shaw at WBA). Barring injury if Clyne and Shaw arent starting vs WHU I will really be asking selection questions because Chambers and Fix are nowhere near their quality I thought Osvaldo was OK and had the best of our chances, I though Rickie was slow and he is starting to look his age sadly, much like Holt did after his magic season for Norwich Sooner or later we will have to play Osvaldo up top, off the last man as i think he'll be the one to make the runs in behind which Rickie just doesn't do Davis too seems to really pep us up when he plays as he moves the ball quickly and a lot of the play seems to go through him I'd really like to see this team although i suspect we wont Boruc Clyne Lovren Fonte/Yoshi Shaw Wanyama Schneiderlin JRod Davis Lallana Osvaldo
