  1. Apart from the three he made in this game? Two of them very good.
  2. That was really enjoyable! Some really encouraging stuff, albeit against a lower league opposition. Not perfect by any means but has to be worth a solid 7.5/10?
  3. Djenepo is so weird
  4. I did think this a while ago. He's awful off the ball.
  5. 4-1 Aribo Edozie has terrorised them!
  6. What a save from their keeper!
  7. Has Edozie had a growth spurt in the off season? I thought he was short!
  8. Playing brilliantly. League One opposition or not, this is very encouraging.
  9. Really good showing from Saints. Mara the only one who really hasn't been very good. Starting to think he isn't gonna come good either. Some flowing football and we're seeing possession football with an actual purpose. I know it's against a L1 team (managed by Ruben Selles no less) but probably the best half of football I've seen Saints play for months and if we can moan about a poor performance against the Portugese champions, I see no reason why we can't be happy with a good performance against a League One team. Side note; I hear Selles came over and clapped Saints fans who clapped him back. Nice to see there's no bad feeling on either side
  10. Ah great, 2-1. Was starting to get a bit worried that there may not be anything to whinge about.
  11. So you mean like every single time any player, manager or board member of any club in the country gives any media interview?
  12. The club nursed him because they were obliged to do so. No other reason
  13. I believe he did, yes.
  14. Sorry to say but if I were in Tino's position, I'd go and unlike Tino, I'm an actual Saints fan. Did we look after him out of the goodness of our hearts? No, we looked after him because we were contractually obliged to do so. Football is a short career and he may not get another chance to play in the CL and given his injury, what's to say his knee isn't going to give way again and him have to retire? Those injuries can reoccur easily. He has to do what's best for his future. Players are employees and just aren't going to have the same level of love for the club as fans (customers) do. Plus there's actually a chance that he's been asked to leave by the club - If the club have concluded that it makes more sense to keep KWP instead (let's be honest, at least one of them was always going) then the club may have suggested he go. It's not a likely scenario but it COULD have happened. Tino owes us nothing and we owe him nothing. Provided he hasn't whinged like a baby and refused to train or something then I'll wish him all the best for the rest of his career.
  15. No it isn't. In The Championship that's an incredible backline (though I still don't trust Janny B). Those two full backs have been two of the best in the league in the last couple of years.
  16. Not in the first season. And we almost bankrupted the club to get there. I've said since the start of the season that if we go down, we'll be in a better position to come straight back up than we were last time. That's not to say we'll do it, just that the club is in a better position off the field (bizarrely). Last time, didn't we only spend money on one player and that was Fuller at about 1/7th of the money we sold Crouch for?
  17. Where were all these comments? I don't remember anyone suggesting he wasn't good enough? Maybe that Lavia was better but that's not the same.
  18. All the best! Any idea where he's off to?
  19. "We won't sign a player that Russell doesn't want or that I don't want" - Strong statement.
  20. But you must admit, a lot of our players probably do have a Championship pedigree.
  21. Hypothetical; Would you take the squad we have now minus Shea and Manning to start the season with? So nobody leaves but nobody arrives.
  22. Disappointment in back to back promotions? Our fans are quite something with expectations...
  23. Can't say I'd be that bothered about Lavia going. Not because he isn't a good player, quite the opposite. It's just I accepted about 3 games in that we were probably not going to keep him beyond last season even if we'd stayed up. So there's just an inevitability about it and has had almost a year to sink in.
  24. That I agree on.
  25. Like 99.999% of the population of Earth then. I don't see how it's selfish anyway because I'm not JUST thinking about myself. I'm simply looking out for a different group of people.
