I prefer him to Jones. As inept as Pellegrino was, he did at least seem like a very nice bloke who did a really nice "goodbye" considering he hadn't been with us long. Jones is not only a dreadful manager but a complete dick of a person as well.

Wouldn't be surprised at Downes. He's been publically in our radar since we played Swansea in the cup a couple of years ago. Played under both Martin and Jones too so he's probably been a prominent figure on our shortlist for a long time.

Well I'm glad they've finally confirmed it and it's a very brave choice to make. We all knew it was going to happen and honestly, I'm not a fan. It was first leaked in the media about a month ago but you never know how reliable they are but they were spot on here. I just wish it hadn't been leaked so that us, as fans, could have a more organic reaction because let's be honest, it's been one of the worst kept secrets ever. I'm willing to give this one a chance though but I'm not optimistic. Really can't believe they've brought back Cindy Beale...
