Due to my family connections I have been there well over 50 times, mostly between the age of 3-7. Fortunately my Dad also took me to a few games at the Dell, we only lived about 500 yds from there! My uncle was a fanatical Saints fan and he saw to it my football education took the right line. My first game at the Dell was in 1947, and I was hooked! From then on my only interest in Fratton was when my father was playing. I haven't been to Fratton Park, unless it involved the Saints since 1950.

Totally true... I am from a generation that remembers how we dipped out of certain promotion after Charlie Wayman got injured and our goals dried up... I wish that feeling on no one. We are now in a different era and decent clubs have replacements in every position, so have we, but not for the most important player it seems. We scorned that opportunity in the last transfer and loan window.. I consider that complacent by several people in important positions in our club.
