Funny the differing views on the result...those that went and those that didn't basically. Anyone who was there knew how good we were for 80 minutes when all the chasing and harrying we did caught up with us. Great defensive display ...yes Jaidi may be dodgy for his distribution but thats not his job. He wins the ball and clears the danger. How many chances did the top of the league team create? How many headers at goal did they have? Jaidi is a stopper and thats his job and no-one does that better. For years we have had namby pamby centre halves like Davenport and Lancashire and some of you want him dropped against the top of the league side. Saturday is the day to play Martin. I came away disappointed but elated at the way we played.

It is getting better at grass roots level - I have seen clubs starting academies etc for 5 year olds that do concentrate on ball work skills etc rather than lumping it long. Of course once you get in a league its all different as quite a few managers are the win at all costs and just lump it forward as territory is king. Mind you several leagues have stopped tables for under 8's to help that. I was chatting to a mate on Saturday at football when this little lad came up - my mate had been coaching him a few weeks before - this lad was 6 and already has been signed by Chelsea and playing at under 8's.

Well they are hard to spot apart arent they...identical twins really ;-) My only concern is for Jaidi playing twice in such a short time against Brighton.

Sorry Fonte was poor and responsible for their goal how can you give him 8? Twice in the first half his slips put them in on goal. Jaidi never lost a header , won every tackle yet you give him 5. I think we need to bring back Davenport and Lancashire to show what a good defender Jaidi is.

Compared to last season yes....he won loads more headers today than he has been - still not doing enough at times though. He is not helping himself - Guly flicked the ball up the line and I looked across to see Lambert jogging forward when he should of been busting a gut to get in the box. Its coming though.....

Sorry I cant believe someone above slagged Jaidi...Fonte was at fault ...one is black the other had orange boots on!!! Jaid had a great game - Fonte didnt simples. Radhi never lost a header and for once was decent on the floor. Lets criticise when a player is bad but lets just cut out the rubbish when they play well.

What age range...I help out at youth level but have contacts in clubs that have all age ranges. We have 14 sides.

If he was that unhappy would he be putting in appearances representing the club at social functions? He turned up at Mountbatten school last week as part of the Saints team that took on the Royals in the annual sports quiz. Saints lost as usual ;-)

Gone to Villa....hardly

Totally disagree...he has been exactly what we have needed in some games - a terrier - closing down and not giving them space. He is the only midfielder I have seen go beyond the strikers in years at SMS. Ok he hasnt been as good as his previous loan spell but he didnt play much before coming here and is still getting match fitness. Sharpen up his passing and we have a gem and youngish too.

Well if anyone is sending scouts to watch him this season they will go away and say don't bother to the manager.

Now I know why Guly went to right midfield against Shrewsbury. I am not going to join the wrist slitters on here...but I do find this an odd one. Seeing as he has been loaned out and not stayed anywhere for long it does make you wonder if its a personality clash. Puncheon has ability but he has not shown much of that this season.

He did actually....to be another example of Lowes cheap methods, if we had appointed a decent manager not a useless twonk like Hoddle we would of been fine there were loads of other choices. If we had kep Pearson and not gone for Dutch experiments etc etc etc

Yep my favourite Dell goal...we had gone 1 nil down when Eric made a rare boob and dropped one in from a corner. Sydie crossed it from the half way line and Big Ron dived to header a bullet of an equaliser. Brilliant.
