Am I missing something here....didn't we have gates of 31k every week? The problem was we never spent it on managers or quality players...we went for cheap options like Gray, Wigley, Dutch experiments who all failed and over inflated our squad with mediocrity. Whereas Fulham went for Hughes, Blackburn Big Sam, Everton have Moyes and no money....the most important thing at a club is the manager not the size of the stadium in isolation. We have a big enough stadium that will do us for years and don't need to expand, football will implode soon and we need to be able to survive. Look at Brighton 93m?? on a 22k stadium.

Will wait and see if we get through first.....been a fan too long to think otherwise.

We need a different option to Lambert and Barnard...Waigo last season gave us that - someone with pace and guile who could get the defence turning and facing their own goal. Neither Lambert or Barnard can do this and we rely on quick to feet passing to set them up - something that we didnt do well yesterday it was all too slow a tempo. That is what I think is missing pace up front so the midfield can hit the channels when they have no other option.

No I don't think Adkins is beyond approach and think he got it wrong today leaving on Guly for so long. I would of had Holmes on at half time and played Lallana behind Barnard but Adkins put on Connoly and he scored you're right that Adkins is rubbish!

Today we controlled the game but were too slow in getting it to feet, there were still some good performances especially Chaplow. Jaid and Seaborne won everything and they only had 2 chances both from corners. We are playing with far more width and passing much better than at any time under Pardew - lets conveniently forget games against Wycome and Oldham at home last year that was far worse than today! The thing we are missing still is pace up front and someone who can get behind the defence like Waigo did - Adkins will hopefully replace Bignall and put that right.

Agreed there were a number of rubbish results last season but that was more to do with Pardews tactics of playing too narrow than being after a cup game. If players cant manage 2 games in a week they should bother!!

My only criticism is he tinkers too much an example from last night, two games ago we left 2 players up from away team corners, last night everyone was back which creates extra pressure as we had no outlet ball when we won it.
