That might of been me as thats exactly what I said and felt - how many times did we cross the ball into the box and only had DMG surrounded by 4 defenders in there? After we scored for ten minutes we looked out on our feet - DMG had run himself ragged and to put him out on the wing was mental as it allowed them more space in front of Lloyd. We should of gone 4-4-2 with Pekhart, DMG up the middle and Smith and BWP on the wings pushing them back - playing the same formation allowed them to keep coming at us. JP wound me up with his after match talk.....its your bloody tactics that are causing us to fail.
-
I was told from a reliable source (no won't give that out on here) that he gives JP a list of players that he can pick the team from - this list is based on what we can afford wages wise. JP picks the team and manages it from there on in.
-
So explain to me then how we can afford the 5 I have named on another thread! All have agents all want a cut of the deal?

Is anyone else numb with saints at the mo
Give it to Ron replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
Numb yes..care yep still do very much but I am not going to take much more. What other club lets its 2 previous seasons goalscorers go on loan? Sorry all this about no money etc is fine but how come we can afford Forecast, Gasmi, Pulis, Robertson, Smith then? You cannot keep letting go of your better experienced players and still survive with kids its madness. In the reserve match the other night there was only one player who looked as though they could step up in the near future and that was Immudia and he is small. Paterson is exempt from that ....he will be ready next season. -
The other thing that surprises me in all this is that the Brighton Reserve keeper was twice as good as Bart in the game the other night. He never fumbled once, commanded his area, constantly spoke or shouted ****** to his back four to keep them on their toes and his distribution was as good.
-
I hope someone has told JP because last night he said that Stern was our penalty taker from now on! That or he doesn't think we will get one until his loan has finished and he will come back and take them ;-)
-
6-8 pm its usually with Mark(Psyhco) but he is away golfing with a lot of Hants cricketers in Portugal this week - they had the very good David Armstrong last night.

Guests on The Brothers show are....JP and Killer could be interesting questioning them if given the opportunity.
-
Although very hard to judge on last nights performance he looked comfortable on the ball but very rusty with his passing and not surprisingly off the pace given the amount of time off. He will need quite a few games to get his fitness up....he isn't that tall or big either.
-
He is at Staplewood quite regularly for these games...on tonight showing he probably felt he should of stayed at home.

[quote=Toomer;83) The game passed Euell by and he was replaced by the Gas Man no one stood out. One thing that I was a bit taken aback by was JP eating burgers from the burger van (yes I did have one) along with acadamy players. Considering Euell has been out for some time I thought he did Ok - his final ball was as bad as the others but that was down to lack of games. Funny you said that about JP as I did not recognise him at first because thats the first time I have seen a manager do that here and didn't believe it was him at first. It funny I have watched the reserves for years on that side and was thinking how many managers have come and gone into that canteen past me on reserve games..have known them all until tonight.

A disappointing result in a game where a draw would of been a fair result which we would of got had White not ballooned it over the bar from 3 1/2 feet! This was Saints back to their sloppy worst where good build up play was wasted by sloppy passing and poor final ball. Everyone was a culprit tonite and the only player that can feel satisfied with their performance was Immudia who was outstanding. Pekhart started up front with Paterson playing deeper and this did not work at all and the shocking Pekhart was replaced at half time by what looked like a 15 year old ...called Jack Boyle who looked useful. Paterson battled well but was outfought by the very strong Brighton defence - I would send the scouts watching their right back who looked very strong. Also Jake Robinson the Brighton number 9 looked very good as well. The Brighton goal was a result of a shocking pass by Morgan straight to their forward who smashed it into the top corner. Bart looked far better than the last time I saw him play with some good saves from close range. A very frustrating game where we went forward really well then ruined all the good stuff with poor final ball. Gasmi came on with about 30 minutes left and very hard to appraise him but will take time to settle and show what he can do. I spoke with Wayne Thomas who was there on crutches and had his operation to repair his cruciate and will be out for 7 months.

But thats why most of us...ok perhaps just me and my friends that go are so frustrated at the moment. We are light years better than last season in terms of commitment .ability and skill wise but just far too lightweight to survive anything other than a basement battle. Why do we have to set our sights and expectations low - we have some good young talent but they need help and experience and again will state it again a solid foundation at the back. We have signed several more players that we could of done without when screaming out loud for defenders. Did we need Forecast, Pulis, Smith, Pekhart or Robertson when we had and chose to ignore the 20 goal plus striker that saved us last season? How many clubs banish their main goalscorers ?? We have done it twice with Rasiak and now John...no wonder McGoldrick doesn't want to score ;-) We are not light years away from being able to push up the table but it appears to me to stubbornly stick to the kids when its obvious to everyone who goes that its not working or ever likely to.

Any Tyro u12 goalkeeper would of saved that...most of them would still be on two feet just bending down and picking it up! Why did Wotton just bang the next straight down the middle...wasn't that the most obvious place it was going to go he made it so easy for the keeper who didnt even have to move.

Thanks Teddy s[ot on and exactly how I feel..I don't usually single out players but his attitude stinks. Not just the penalty miss but his passing amd committment stunk today. The manager on radio Hampshire said about missing chances and penalties yet left him on for 90 mins that just gives him license to be as crap as he wants and then knows he wont get substituted. How long can this club ignore the fact that a 16 yearold at left back a makesshift youth cente midfielder at right back, a lightweight ball playing centre half in Lancashire are not up to this kicking league. Ye I am fully aware we have no money yet sign Robertson, Gasmi, Pulis and Smith and totalli ignore the defence - we sign Kack Cork to play at the back then play him in midfield alongside a lightweight Surman and Lalana

Good course Crane especially now the greens are now a lot better than a few years ago. My favourite Bournemouth course though is Dudsbury its quality. I am a member at Bramshaw which has the benefit of 2 totally different courses - the most difficult round here for me is Hamptworth where unless you can smash it long distances is very tough.

I think that was the official figure but due to crowds they just opened the Chapel end gates and filled the middle sections. Its like the Man Utd game way back when the official figure was nowhere near how many were in The Dell that night. I have no proof other than by eyesight but on both occasions the gates were opened and people let in without being counted.

Is that C_ockney rhyming??? I don't believe we do get that many going by the many empty seats around me at the Norwich game it looked more like 12k!!! Cripes I remember a Spurs reserve game at SMS where we had 11k when they had Rebrov playing.

St Marco again you missed the point ...Nick is not speaking for us...he is just appealing to ALL Saints fans on behalf of the Saints Trust as their spokesman. How do you know the numbers of people that are not attending because of Lowe and how many are not attending because of finance those are big assumptions to make. All Nick is saying is that anyone who is staying away because of Lowe should realise the hurt they are doing....surely you can see that is right due to loss of revenue? Saints prices are lower than several clubs in this league. Whether or not you believe Lowe is the devil incarnate or if this action is the correct one to remove him for good the fact cannot be ignored that we are deep in the crap with only 14/5k attending - David Luker has stated that we cannot cut prices as that would mean alienating the 10k season ticket holders on renewal time so the only way forward is more bums on seats. I am not sure whether re-introducing the early bird prices on a pro rata basis would work but it might get a few more ST sold without ****ing off the current ones and more dosh in the kitty right now.
-
Have you ever met Nick??? You can find him here http://www.clubfanzine.com/southampton/v2.forums.php its his site. Nick has spent a lot of time in the past out there campaigning and working for the good of the club and supporters and yes sometimes he can just appear to like the publicity but he puts himself up there just like you or I could. You are way off the mark saying he knows nothing about the club . He is not "our supposed spokesman" he is the Saints Trust spokesman.

Who ....or why write on a website crap about takeovers...its fine on boards like this with other fans but look at that site and the date.

Not a cricket thread ;-) but I was listening to Radio Hampshire last night and there was some very good callers on discussing Pearson, Lowe and non attendees...Ted Sainty one was called I believe who spoke a lot of sense. Richard Chorley called in and although I did not agree with a lot of his rant it certainly could not be argued his passion. Nick Illingsworth unfarely IMO came in for a lot of stick again which is a shame as I have known Nick for over 40 years and he is a very loyal fan if sometimes misunderstood especially about non attendees. Anyway I digress the point was that Stuart Dennis twice said when talking about Pearson that we were lucky on the last day that Leicester ****ed up well I was sure we finished above Coventry making that point invalid. Googling CCC league [positions found this site...who writes up this crap and what motive is it their 15 minutes of fame? http://flc.theoffside.com/page/2

Thanks for the report Navyred ...good to see Paterson back to scoring form. Having watched him miss a few recently his head seemed to drop and I was worried it would have a big impact on him as he looks a 'confidence' player and I have high hopes for him.
