Saint George seems quite adamant that suffering children half way across the world should be none of your concern. I can only assume that he feels the same about the kids that make his cheap clothes and the ones starving while food is plentiful. They are half way across the world too. Living is easy with eyes shut.

We now have to accept that we will not be allowed to win this.

We can still win this

Amazing! Presidential candidate Mike Huckerby now saying that the 2nd amendment (Right to bear arms) does not need to be changed, maybe we should tinker with the 1st amendment. (right to free speech) It would be better if we just never mentioned the names of the killers or reported it so much. In other news, Obama's speech was excellent. Full of common sense and a feeling of frustration that one of the world's most powerful people is powerless to do anything about it because of the NRA lobbyists and congress.

Stats like those are often quoted. They come from official sources in their respective countries. The problem is though, each country has wildly different definitions of what constitutes a violent crime making the stats useless. Edit: sorry, I see that has already been covered.

I always look at Bournemouth's results....Always have. After that, Exeter and Torquay on occasion.

Meh, they are doing quite well at the moment. Give credit where it's due (See what I did there? Due credit?) Frankly, I prefer to kick them when they are down, or at least more down than they are right now.

I think we can all safely assume that any billionaire Saints fan buying the club will also be buying Poopey and re-branding them as an outlet for STD ridden blow jobs for homeless sailors.

Steven Davis: 'Southampton squad best since I joined'
Ohio Saint replied to doddisalegend's topic in The Saints
Well done sir. You have made a choice. I honestly feel that this is where we are at right now. Whatever we think ourselves, Saints have made a definitive decision for the future. I suggest we just grab hold of anything we can, and go along for the ride. It may well be a bumpy one though. -
I grew up with the Saints having the Southampton city badge....But I remember that the council treated Saints like crap for a good number of years.....I would keep the current badge. It is the saints.

Steven Davis: 'Southampton squad best since I joined'

So........... The most pertinent question would be what do you want? Best squad, or best 11? resources are limited. -
Hey, Rally, you must have really lucked out with your prediction. It only works once, don't wear it out!

LMAO!!! At first, I thought this was just another crazy lame thread. Then I realised that there are some people out there who still have a sense of humour! (And real passion) 1. I would erect a statue outside St. Mary's for MLT 2. I would erect a statue outside St. Mary's for Markus 3. I would erect a statue outside St. Mary's for my shi-tzu, Mulligan 4. I would spend millions to resurrect the original Plested's pie shop, and eat all their pies. 5. I would do whatever it takes to be the mostest awesome Saint's owner ever. I don't care how many pies I have to eat to achieve this.

Steven Davis: 'Southampton squad best since I joined'

I'm very happy with the squad. It is very unlikely that we will achieve what we did last year in terms of league success, but we now have a stronger foundation. Players will still come and go, but we now have a stronger model that will be the base of any future dealings. To me, it looks as though the board are implementing a considered strategy to eliminate our weak spot of having star players that move on at the sniff of a bumper payout. Like it or not, this is the strategy that will define our level of achievement for the next few years. I fully expect though, that the board will be building from from this base. It would be crazy to expect us to improve every single year in terms of our league position. It seems to me that we have entered a phase of consolidation in preparation for the next stage. -
Tater: Ramirez!! Great skill!!!......On the replay......Doesn't look like he got a touch, did he?

Jesus....The commentaries for Chelsea are so much more complimentary than for ours. Mesmerizing runs, amazing skills......Pass the sick bucket please!!

Roswell seems to be in the same vein as me. As he says, he has been here over 20 years, I have been here 15 years. Much the same as him, I am very appreciative of this country, and I very much enjoy the company of those around me. A great many of those people would be extremely embarrassed at his rants. It's interesting that SG is so reluctant to share with us his status regarding his nationality. I'm not sure why he is trying to hide it. I feel that in an honest debate, it is only reasonable for the debaters to offer at least a small amount of information about themselves in order to validate their position. Saint George, please, could you give us at least a brief disclosure of your background? Otherwise, I will just have to assume that you are a white supremacist skinhead based on your previous posts.

This was my take on his post match comments. I get the feeling that his comments were just an extension of what he has been saying to the players during training. Of course he will be delighted with the win, but he is tempering his public comments to be in line with what he is telling his players on the training ground. He is just making it clear to the squad that if they play well enough in both training and matches, there will be a place for them in the team.

It's attached to his brain. HTH

I wanna see Newcastle beat Chelsea if only to see the True Geordie's video on that game. He is my hero!

Just had a look at a couple of Swan's forums. Oh my!! I'm surprised at their delusions of grandeur. I had thought that their team is in a similar vein to ours in a "Best of most of the rest" kinda way. It seems that to most of them, that we are just some other team that they should have beaten easily away from home. I have suitably made an adjustment to my hopes for their degree of success this season.

According to Whispering Dave, he sounds like he is trying to encourage competition for places within the squad. I tend to agree with him. There are some positions up for grabs or demanding even more commitment from those already in the team.
