  1. Imagine how bad our right hand side would be if we didnt have a world class right back....
  2. http://livesoccers.tv/watch/newcastle-united-vs-southampton/ Decent stable stream here
  3. He had a good game today. Yes there were some misplaces passes. I haven't seen the stats but he probably had the highest passing retention rate in out side. Whilst that might be frustrating as sometimes he does go back (but actually not as much as some think) we simply do not have a good enough defence to win games if we only have 40%. And it's interesting how much stick he gets about his passing when Hoj goes equally sideways and backwards but loses the ball when doing so. Ultimately though it is those players that are good at retention that fans turn on first- see winks at spurs. Yet those same style players are really valued by managers Sent from my CPH1835 using Tapatalk
  4. Still think JWP is a good footballer. Not top 6 quality but a solid mid level prem level who gives it alot. I think he is naturally cautious and not helped when, if he gives the ball away moving it forward, means that there is probably only him and **** defence between the opposition and the goal. Ideally I would like to see him push further forward which forces him to be adventurous and was when he had his best spell of form for us early this year. He can cleanly strike a football like no other in our side and we just need to force him into that attacking mindset. If there are enough players behind him then I think he will. 5. There are only a handful of players that look like they care most games (not judging on talent as that is how poor we are). Ings, JWP, maybe Redmond, maybe romeu. No opinion on Obafemi who is just out of his depth. Rest go through games drifting with the occasional good performance Sent from my CPH1835 using Tapatalk
  6. Stephens may have the off decent game but all that really proves he is championship level. I am so perplexed when some people think he could play dm when his ball playing is actually quite poor. He should have mopped up that goal. It's sooo frustrating to see the players go sideways and backwards which they have done for several years. But at least most of them retain the ball when doing so even if it as threatening as wet tissue paper. But **** me Hoj gives the ball away even doing that. What's worst is that I think there are still some decent players in our side which makes the situation so horrible and makes them so unlikeable. Our last relegation I was angry at those in charge for letting us get to that state. But actually I didn't mind the players, particularly in the first half of the season under Port as they really gave it everything. These gutless ****s will barely have a sweat on. 7. Last week, with the exception of Cedric, every player scored a 7/8 out of 10. Today not a single one of them be above a 5 and most lower than that Sent from my CPH1835 using Tapatalk
  8. We are being complete ****s out there. Love it. More of that in the future please.
  9. If it is the one I am thinking of, Ings made the run tracked by 2 Arsenal defenders. Would have taken a genius of a ball to find him and even then Ings wouldn't have had support. Unless it's a different that I missed as well
  10. Some of the comments here are quite amusing. We are away to Arsenal and playing pretty well. Yes there are some weaknesses as you would expect. Redmond's decision-making, Hojberg passing, JWP tackling, Stephens flying out and missing the tackle. But overall a pretty good half and I would say every player has just about contributed something. Arsenal have some excellent attacking and skillful players, we are doing decent.
  11. Apart from that awful shot, I think he's doing okay? Hasn't really lost the ball. Put pressure on ozil just now in the box. Not a 10/10 performance but a real stinker is really harsh.
  12. Hmmm we look good...what's the catch?
  13. I'm very doubtful about playing djenepo, Redmond and boufal all in the side. Yes they are all flair players, but they are all reasonably similar in that they all like to hold the ball for too long. If one of them was capable of quick incisive pass like Tadic then all 3 would make sense. But I just don't think it would work and they would all try to occupy a similar space. It's an unpopular opinion and I under why, but I would push jwp higher up the pitch. His best form last season was when he was occupying space similar to Alli. He's generally played deeper this season so, given our scarcity of options, would want to see what he can do further up. I concede though that would be unpopular! Sent from my CPH1835 using Tapatalk
  14. For ****s sake, the 5 at the back has to go. We are always going to let in a couple of goals, so let's make sure we give ourselves a bit more attacking freedom. When we have the ball, the defenders just pass it amongst themselves hoping someone becomes free that they can release to. But given Romeu is rarely more than 10 yards from the defenders, that leaves just 4 players up the pitch which makes it very easy for the opposition to mark us out of the game. So we kick it long hoping that Redmond or Ings can magic something up and we lost the ball. Rise and repeat. So let's remove a player from the backline and let's give us another person up the pitch. One of the few glimpses of hope we have got is that we do have some flair attacking players, even if they are frustrating. I wouldn't mind us going back to a 4-2-3-1 as that has usually got the best out of our attacks in the past. It's difficult as there isn't a natural player to go with Romeu in that defensive midfield duo, but might give us a stonger attacking foundation
  15. Not sure what a new manager will change. We may get another boost, may even be enough for keep us up. But they will bring in a few more squad players who will probably be crap and the cycle continues when we get rid of the next manager next year. Ralph's record shows he is a good manager. Might as well keep hoping it comes off and we can build some longevity. There are worse managers out there which I bet we will land. But I understand why some people are getting frustrated. 16. Desperately trying to find some positives so here goes.... Think djenepo looks good. Looks like he may make something even if it doesn't always come off. Um Only 1 goal down. Still got 11 players... Think the formation needs to change. In the rare occasions we have the ball we just pass it round the backline but we are so easy to mark further up the pitch. Invariable we just hoof it into a channel hoping someone may run onto it which they don't. We need jwp to be the player the defenders feed the ball who can then recycle it out. But he's not making himself available and strangely I've notice even if he is available, the other players ignore him? I don't know if that's because they don't trust him, or because he's not demanding it enough Sent from my CPH1835 using Tapatalk
  17. That advantage was appalling. Would we rather a freekick 25 yards out, or to have the ball with no forward option and a set defense.
  18. I had an ill advised visit from my partner. In her defense, I told her I would be free by half time. What was the indirect freekick for?
  19. They supported United
  20. We are being proper ****s with our timewasting. I love it.
  21. Credit to the lads, they are absolutely fighting for one another and the club out there. It needs every single one of them to put in a shift to get anything here, and even if the talent isn't there, the effort is. I think we are all expecting City to eventually break through and win but they are having to fight. What was really noticeable was how aware they are of the City players movement. Unless you are a tank that fills half the pitch like Romeu, you aren't gonna get too many chances to get close enough to tackle. But they know which City players to get close to, and which ones to give a little bit more space which stifles their attacks. It's like a different team defensively.
  22. Oh boy, that lineup is something special. I'm going to strap myself in and really enjoy this one. Get some snacks in, open the expensive bottle of wine, really make a special occasion out of it. 5 defenders of which only 1 of them is possible capable of defending. This is going to be funny, I don't think I can get angry, it is just that awful. At this stage, I will cling on to any sign of ambition from this squad, and you know what, if that ambition is to beat the record they got so close to breaking last week, then I am all in....
  23. The first goal is certainly partly Gunns fault. One of the first things you learn is if you can't hold the ball, the next best thing is to push the ball behind where your defense can reset. The reason also why he must be seriously attributed with the goal is he did the same thing against Wolves last week and luckily got away with it with an offside in the build up. I like playing young players, but a key component is learning from your mistakes and improving. I don't think he is improving at all. If he came from Liberia or another country not known for goalkeepers, people would be far tougher on him. But that De Gea stubble is making him 'appear' more of a goalkeeper. He has to go back to number 2 for a while and learn from this.
  24. Usually in thumping defeats, you often get a keeper who gets praised for doing his best and keeping the score down. Like a David Marshall who is made to look good. We can't even get that right
  25. I've come through the other side of my fury and depression and now enjoying the game. If we are gonna be bad, be proper bad. Diabolically bad. None of this lose 3-0 half-assed loss. I want a record breaking no-assed loss
