  1. Get the mother ****ing in there Sent from my CPH1835 using Tapatalk
  2. I'm really looking forward to united getting a second goal so that we can suddenly get decisions to 'even things out' Sent from my CPH1835 using Tapatalk
  3. Not all bad and the midfield did control the game at times, particularly last 15. We are never gonna control it the full 90 against united. Would like to see long on for one of Adams or Ings (which is a major failing of our recruitment that it even needs to be said) and Valery on for cedric at some point. It's Ashley ****ing young at full back, lets get a full back overlapping and pulling the defence out of position. It's ridiculous our only full back getting forward regularly is Danso who is up against possible the best defensive full back in football. We need to be braver. Sent from my CPH1835 using Tapatalk
  4. Cedric again leaving jwp isolated for much of that move. It was screaming for him to barge forward on the overlap Sent from my CPH1835 using Tapatalk
  5. Missing Valery. I don't know whether it's the manager instructions but Cedric is not getting forward. It's not right that Danso is getting further forward than him Sent from my CPH1835 using Tapatalk
  6. Adams and Ings are just not at the level we need. Even their press is ineffective most of the time. Not quick enough to stretch them. Not strong enough to hold the ball up and not technically adept to weave the midfielders and full backs onto the attack Sent from my CPH1835 using Tapatalk
  7. I definitely think he brings more than Ings, who I really fear for his future here. Che is about 10-15% better in every facet of his play. There were times he could have made a bit of a quicker decision or a bit more composure, however when you have vvd around you all the time I won't blame him for any doubt or lack of composure. I think we won't see the best of Che until next year, but hopefully the player that emerges is good enough for what we need Sent from my CPH1835 using Tapatalk
  8. As a former referee, I completely agree. The one that annoyed me most was the Romeu yellow. I've seen that challenge from both the various camera angles as well as the refs angle and not a single one showed that to be a foul let alone a yellow. From that moment on, apart from a small spell after we got a goal back, we did not have any control of that game. I believe this was linked to the yellow card as up to that point Romeu was having a belter. These are the little decisions that big clubs get, that get lost within hours of a game. And if you complain about it, you are just seen as a whinger, yet it had a monumental impact on the game. Yes it wasn't an obvious gamechanger like a penalty decision, so on the surface it seems so petty to complain. But I would have preferred a bad decision against us that resulted in their goal, but we could recover from, than a decision that fundamentally changed our gameplan.
  9. Actually felt the opposite with Ings, the left footed curler was about the only decent thing he did. I get the feeling that if we didn't have an obligation to but than we wouldn't have taken it up. I felt Adams offered alot more, especially as he is still getting used to the pace of the premier league. Both missed chances they should have scored, but Adams offered more all round play.
  10. Some people will see that Ings scored and only look at that. The reality is that he isn't good enough. That goal was as lucky as he will ever get.
  11. Really can not work out whether Bednarek is a fantastic, studious defender, or out of his depth.
  12. Looked like a foul on Bertrand by Salah in buildup. Didnt that happen last time we played them here. Would love to read the fine print of the rule book of the exceptions to the rules if they are wearing a Liverpool shirt
  13. This is Liverpool. We can't defend for 90 minutes against them. To be honest our defence can't defend 90 minutes against anyone anyway. To get anything from the game we will need stages of possession to take the heat out and also hopefully get them chasing and tiring after their Wednesday round trip. They will still have more of the ball, but we at least need some phases. Sent from my CPH1835 using Tapatalk
  14. That team would be lucky to get 30% of possession and very little defending in the top third. Would absolutely get walloped! JWP must play.
  15. Philosopher Peter Singer argues this pretty robustly in 'the life you can save'. Although according to the text Yoshida has made a start but would need to be closer to the 20% mark (if tax deductable) to hit his moral obligation. It's an interesting book nonetheless Sent from my CPH1835 using Tapatalk
  16. ****ing hell I had only recently found acceptance and closure and now this bit of hope opens up that wound again. Sent from my CPH1835 using Tapatalk
  17. It's exactly the sort of underwhelming signing I could see arsenal pulling off Sent from my CPH1835 using Tapatalk
  18. Come on lads, cut it out. You robots.
  19. I mean, apart from the last season where he was injured for most of it, he is one of Celtic's most valued players. A look a their forum and their views does not really back up the view he is not consistent (in terms of actual form). Injuries and general fitness are more their concern, but his talent and ability to win big matches is not. If the club decide his fitness is not an issue and can be worked on, then I can see him being an asset here. But maybe I am alone here. I've watched him play loads and is really skilled and talented, more so than Armstrong, and we have a decent record bring in Celtic players
  20. Tom Rogic linked today. Personally would be really happy with this- quite low risk in terms of cash to get him I would imagine for a creative attacking midfielder. Did not have the best season for Celtic because of injuries and then came back into the side and was off the pace. But he probably needs a new challenge anyway so the timing would be very good for his career. The talent side is not in question. The biggest question is whether he can get his match fitness to complete 90 minutes and whether he could fit into our pressing game. That bit I am unconvinced about. But he could be our Tadic replacement (a year too late). A bit of pure creativity could really give our squad a boost. https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/06/15/have-celtic-opened-the-door-for-southampton-to-sign-tom-rogic/
  21. Would be surprised by this. Can't see a top 6 club interested even though is probably good enough, most of them seen to be interested in youth at the moment. Everton have Digne, Leicester are fine for left back. Doesn't leave many candidates. Maybe west ham. Sent from my CPH1835 using Tapatalk
  22. If the Champions League is any indication, one of the unfortunate side impacts of VAR is that there will be more penalties next season, particularly reasonably soft ones. If this is the case, and I do realise it is an if, it would mean that the penalty taker becomes a more essential part of our team. Based on our current squad, who would you have taking our penalties? For me it is JWP- he strikes a football so cleanly and all of our good penalty takers in recent years (MLT, Beattie, Lambert) have all done the same. I guess Ings would also consider himself as the penalty taker as well.
  23. Would you feel comfortable if fans of Liverpool, Man City, Real Madrid, Barcelona etc felt the same about us? Good for old little Southampton, trying to get over their handicap of being a small provincial club and trying to play football? Maybe more people would be interested in us if we actually played as Saints- put some wings on the kit for example! That would get more people watching us! This is the bit that both confuses and amuses me. We are Saints fan, it's not like we watch football to be played at the highest level. Well maybe some of the perennial moaners. People are so quick to complain about the standard of women's football, yet were happy to pay 30 quid a ticket to go watch Lloyd James, Ollie Lancashire and Romain Gasmi lumber around the pitch!
  24. Have you seen our defence? I have far more confidence in an elephant clearing the ball then our lumber centre backs
  25. I agree- Gardner's World should be on BBC 1....what an outrage.....
