  2. Oh dear, I must not be fully awake yet then!
  3. I would be nice to hope for some middle ground (but without expectation). The unions want no real cuts which is not feasible but on the other hand there are many experts who say that we will have problems with double dip recession, major unrest, etc if the cuts are to large and too fast. Personally I think the speed in which the government are trying to pay off the debt is too fast and would be happier with a longer term plan that did see the eventual reduction in the debt but not done in such a drastic manner.
  4. By properties I meant the everything including the area's around the ground. Find that image of that page from the mail or whatever it was which lists all the bits owned by who around FP and all the ones owned by Gady are down as being mortgaged.
  5. I believe all Gady properties are mortgaged so I think HRMC might have difficulty with that?
  6. Sneak preview of the proposed pompey badge post takeover
  7. Fairly gross I would say.
  8. Is that before or after image rights?
  9. As rumoured for ages it appears that Ben Collins has been confirmed as white Stig (news about as surprising in truth as the religious persuasion of the pope and bears toilet arrangements) . Hard to see his still being the Stig in the next season of top gear given the court case so I would guess the next series will see a new Stig. Wonder if they will stay with the white and pretend it never happened or 'kill' white Stig off like black Stig? Maybe someone should suggest the next Stig get a nice red stripe across the front of his overalls to distinguish himself from white Stig?
  10. Indeed, the only confirmation I have seen of the Kitson deal is a claim on SSN. No sign of him on the transfer list on the BBC site.
  11. from bbc: 1832: Stoke look like making it a quartet of Deadline-Day signings, with the news that deals for Eidur Gudjohnsen (from Monaco), Jermaine Pennant (from Real Zaragoza) and Marc Wilson (from Portsmouth) were all pushed through before the 1800 BST deadline. Official confirmation on those expected soon.
  12. I suspect you have installed an application that uses the browser components built into qtwebkit. Look at the dates on the file and see if it matches when you may have installed something.
  13. So how long after the close of the transfer window will Chainrai take over? I guess 6.01pm might be a bit too obvious!
  14. I believe that someone a little while back was talking about pompey's demands for selling KPB, something like.. All up front, all agents fee's paid, 40% sell on clause and a cuddly toy. Whether they got those in the end we don't know.
  15. I would PM you but as you are a registered user I can't. If you could email me at admin@spsapps.com I will let you know where to get the apk to test (still not finished but definitely 'getting there...').
  16. Maybe it should be renamed to 'The thread formally known as the Pompey Takeover Saga'?
  17. Now that's going to cause a problem isn't it? Now someone will have to decide if this thread gets closed or not.
  18. Of course if you are the sort of person to fake an insurance claim to get the latest version of the your phone then the iphone is for you. http://www.reghardware.com/2010/02/15/iphone_insurance_claims/
  19. Where does the coach for the visiting teams, match officials cars, emergency services, etc go? Do you think your next opponents will be happy being dropped off at the end of Dog**** alley and told to walk the rest of the way?
  20. Well it has been 290 years since the last South(-)Sea bubble caused people to buy pointless stocks.

Just materials and delivery. You can obviously get people to do the whole thing but that's likely to cost you quite a bit more. It is quite an expense but the convenience makes up for it as far as we are concerned.

    Astro turf

I got it off ebay as there are some firms who do larger jobs then sell their offcuts there. It was 4 metres wide (usual width I think) and 8 metres long and cost £319 plus about £60 delivery.
  23. Reminds me of a old Dutch colleague who said, in 1999, that his father was so paranoid about the millennium bug that he was intending to lock himself in his cellar with a supply of baked beans and candles. Think I said something along the lines of 'out of the frying pan, into the fireball', or something similar.

Had a fairly small shaded lawn which needed replacing after some building work and ended up going for artificial grass a couple of years ago and we find it very good. Plus points are: With a small lawn like ours you can take it right the way up to walls Kids can play outside all year round and not a) Ruin the lawn b) come in too mucky No mowing No problem with shaded area's. You can leave things on it for ages without the grass dying underneath (have a small goal and couple of crash mats that I would have to move around regularly if it were real grass). Downsides are: Not real grass You have to go over it every so often and pick out things like leaves that would normally get absorbed by a normal lawn. Will need replacing at some point, but allegedly good for 10 years at least. Laid ours by compacting down the remaining soil, then a compacted layer of sand then the artificial turf. Got one that you have rake dry sand into which helps keep the 'grass' looking more natural and the weight of it means there is no need to fix it down. Not sure about putting it directly on concrete as think its better to have something closer to the consistency of soil underneath. If you can I would recommend putting in an inch or two of sand/soil before laying it if you keep the concrete. Here is a piccy from just after I put it down.
  25. I do like the way they are looking at the premier league teams and wondering who they might get.. "you are all barstewards and you wanted us to die......... but could you let us have some cheap players please, if you could foot the bill that would be dandy"
