  1. I hear a striker with a proven record has recently become available.... as long as they don't have to sign Keys as well.
  2. For those saying it was just banter and people are overreacting would you consider it just banter if the situation was changed such that the linesman was male but coloured and Keys and Gray had been caught saying he did not know the offside rule because of the colour of his skin?
  3. According to a slighty unrelated article on the guardian (http://www.guardian.co.uk/media/organgrinder/2011/jan/26/phone-hacking-new-police-investigation) Keys may be about to beat the shove by jumping.
  4. Or Keys has more to lose by being thrown out and is trying hard to cling on? All the reports are they were as bad as each other and I would not take his apparent sincerity as proof of anything.
  5. Well at least it would be a points penalty rather than financial one as at least they have some points.
  6. That's 5 in the squad, which we know. We need someone to point the rule about number on the pitch at one point as nothing there about it.
  7. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/jan/26/andy-gray-richard-keys-sixist A right nasty pair by the sounds of it.
  8. As has been pointed out elsewhere once they are miked up they can be heard by a large number of people even when not on air. Its an unwritten rule in broadcasting is that when you have a mike on you treat it as if its always on. Obviously AG and Keys decided they were above such things.
  9. Can't believe he can legally do that? Obviously if you 'do a babel' and post something that would get you into trouble if you did the same via the normal print media then they would get punished but can't see he could legally fine someone 14,000 for posting "Hey, watch this funny cat chasing a laser pointer video I found on youtube"
  10. I'm guessing that is one of those rhetorical questions?
  11. Laugh out loud quote of the week from Steve Cotterill http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/18012011/63/pompey-bare-bones.html
  12. Given their position I can't see them getting promoted with or without Nugent but I guess you could argue that by keeping him they will reduce the chance of them being relegated which would cost them a lot more than 500k (or they are just holding out hoping for a better bid!).
  13. It does appear that spurs were keen to help which may well be related to the presence of arry. Anyway such a pity for you this is a debt to a football club and no a local business as you can't get away with paying 5 totally imaginary pence in the pound on this debt.
  14. Given spurs say "Portsmouth were keen to openly and freely agree to this surety" I would guess they have it on record so I suspect you are p*ssing in the wind trying not to pay it. Still, not the first time you have appealed something to try and put off the inevitable eh!
  15. Disappointed that we did not get any bookings as we obviously don't have anywhere near the fighting spirit of "8 bookings and a fine" pompey.
  16. We want 6.....
  17. ...
  18. Well when it comes to them getting their just deserts.. every little helps.
  19. Highlights on ITV soon by the sounds of it...
  20. In answer to the original troll/question I chose option C, getting companies like BHS, Vodafone who spend fortunes on complicated schemes to avoid paying tax to be made to pay up. There should be a 'moral' test of some sort such that one can say 'yes your 15 shell companies and exporting your profits to Switzerland, even though you don't do much other business there, is legal but that doing so is morally wrong so pay up'. If all the companies who don't pay there share for the upkeep of the country by the use of dubious financial instruments were made to stop and pay their dues it would go a long way to balance the books without cutting services or raising taxes.
  21. There is always the risk that the Chinese government could just decide to revalue their currency or so something else random that would have a major effect on these stocks so it is still a risky investment compared to those giving a lower, guaranteed return. i.e. don't blame me if you loose money!!
  22. If you are going to go for an ISA I would go via a discount isa place, I use http://moneyworld-ifa.co.uk/ (basically financial companies give an 'IFA' a cut of any product bought through them, places like moneyworld give you at least some of that back so cheaper than actually going direct to the financial company). If you are okay with a bit of risk then invest in Chinese stocks can be quite profitable. Put some in the Fidelity Chinese Special Situations fund in April and its currently up 22% or so.
  23. According to the 'grand plan' how much are they supposed to be making from player sales in the upcoming transfer window?
  24. I am not happy at some of their decisions (Gove scrapping the SSC on ideological rather than reasoned grounds for example) but I except that in our system they have the right to make those decisions. They may be stupid, dogma driven and often plain wrong but that have earnt their turn at screwing up the country.
