  1. I guess you must have missed the parts where, while it was noted that Kirkland was probably more shocked by the attack than the actual ferocity of it, it was also pointed out on several occasions that the whole affair was a despicable act from a complete thug who deserves to end up in prison for a stretch.
  2. Well in Dave, give it some. Well, apart from the racism bit; not sure how that was applicable.
  3. Yep. Sky cameras followed him, looked like he tried to get back as far as he could and perhaps into the stand, the footbage stopped as he was making his way backwards. Police have identified who it is, I assume they've either caught him or will do very quickly.
  4. The memes have started already.
  5. That's very deep Colin. Amen.
  6. Should have gone the Esteban Alvarado route.
  7. It wasn't the sign so much, it was the poor buggers (their own fans) who were sat underneath it. Chubs in the white looks like he's borne the full brunt of it.
  8. Not so much exaggerating Colin. More suggesting that he went down out of shock of the strike, as opposed to being knocked to the ground by the power of it. There is a difference between the two.
  9. There's something not quite right with some of Leeds' fans.
  10. Perspective of what? That it was an atrocious, shocking act? That he should get sent down for it, and for some time? That Leeds could/should get punished for it. Or something else?
  11. Watch the youtube video above mine again; its not even a punch. Its an effort at a two-handed push in the face. I imagine Kirkland was shocked that it actually happened more than he was hurt by the actual "strike". I bet his teammates will be giving him a bit of banter about that.
  12. He did give it a touch of the dramatics; perhaps from the shock of it, but not the impact, surely. Why's he holding the top of his head?
  13. Not from his jail cell he won't be.
  14. From tonight's Sheff Wed v Leeds game.
  15. Yep; Rupert had more than a say in bringing in Crouch, Delgado, Niemi and others. I never had too much of a problem with that. team selection; well that's a completely different thing. And Leeds
  16. And another. “It's always good to remember where you come from and celebrate it. To remember where you come from is part of where you're going.” - Anthony Burgess
  17. True, but that doesn't explain the disenfranchisation of the likes of Jimmy Case, Mark Dennis, Lawrie etc. They previously had roles within the club that were abrubtly ended in the whole new broom philosophy.
  18. Go and have another look at the twitter quotes on page 6; that was one of MLT's accusations.
  19. Oops... Anyway, I'm not suggesting that's what they're trying to do. But I do think there is an effort to whitewash certain elements of our recent past, and I think that's unnecessary. Lowe did it before by removing Lawrie's picture from the board room, and that was considered a bit of a scandal at the time. Cortese gets a much easier ride in that respect for his actions.
  20. Imagine if the Glazers had done that when they rocked into Manchester United. If they had distanced themselves from the legend of the Busby Babes; turfed out Booby Charlton et al in a quest to draw a line under their history.
  21. I wonder what the reaction would have been if, when Lowe was in charge, MLT had done an interview with the Echo and expressed his concerns about Rupert meddling with transfers and team selection. Probably would have just been swept aside, and MLT would have been told to shut up.
  22. I would say it is the complete opposite of "normal". But then that's just me.
  23. Lawro has weighed in with his prediction: 2-0 to West Ham. Can't argue with that.
  24. West Ham wear white shorts and socks, so we'd likely have had to change those. But yes; its an utterly ludicrous idea for an away kit.
  25. Given we've just had to take out a loan from a corporation in the BVI, I have to say I can't go along with that bit! But yes; I would say there are lessons to be learnt from many other corporate experiences. Ours have gone progressively downhill of late.
