  1. Yep exactly. Davis is 27, so pretty much at a peak age for a footballer. Do Rangers fans really expect him to stay with them while they kick around in the 4th tier of Scottish football? While he's getting overtures from Premier League clubs, where he can face up against the likes of Man United, Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool, Spurs etc etc etc on a weekly basis? True delusion if that's what they expect.
  2. Pretty sure when I did it, it was a 10am start. So get a wriggle on and you should be ok!
  3. What are you on about you f*cking loon?
  4. Wages?? I thought you learnt your lesson over the Joey Barton debacle.
  5. Get to f*ck, £5M?? I hope he sells a lot of QPR shirts for that. He's decent enough but at that age (and for a winger) is on his way down, and will have very little resale value. Wages will be massive too. QPR really do like getting that wage bill to epic proportions.
  6. Nicky C a givva him a message he canna refuse.
  7. I considered that at first; but the development fee would be due to the oldco, who no longer exist. And this is an agreement with Rangers to pay a percentage of any sell on fee, not a transfer fee or development fee. I reckon MLG has it about right.
  8. Not according to this article. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18703444 Although I can't work out why there was a fee, even if it is in the guise of a sell-on clause. Maybe just an act of courtesy by Cov?
  9. Get used to it for Rangers. Naismith has gone to Everton, they'll very soon lose even more of their players for no fee.
  10. What would you consider Matt Jarvis to be?
  11. Like you say the proof will come when we see him play. But this is one signing that I'm really happy about, I feel we need a bit of top level experience and quality at CM and CB, and this ticks the box for CM completely. We now have Davis to help along the great potential of Morgan and Jack Cork, looks decent. A similar type signing at CB and it'll really look like taking shape.
  12. Davis is for free, shirley? JRod £6M +£1M if we stay up (so I hear), Buttner supposedly £3M.
  13. Its a conspiracy.
  14. Smart.
  15. Yeah well, you'll never win anything with kids. Hansen has gone on for far, far too long making a vastly overpaid career out of sneering and concdescending rather than offering any true analysis.
  16. Why do so many people assume he's absolutely definitely going to develop into the next great thing and so any money we pay for him now is a bargain? Chris Kirkland was supposed to be Englands next bright star. Look how that ended up. Steve Simonnson was supposed to have an amazing future. Look how that ended up. Ben Foster was going to be Man Utds and England's kepper for years to come. Didn't quite get there. Joe Lewis has had a huge fall from grace. Joe Hart is the rarer example of a keeper in his prime in his early 20s. Buttland could be amazing and on the international scene for 15 years. He could equally turn out to be only quite decent enough to play Premier League or Championship for his career, similar to Rob Green and all the others mentioned.
  17. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/9798446.Saints_fans_will_still_see_Saturday_football/ "SAINTS fans could enjoy just as many traditional Saturday afternoon kick-offs in the Premier League as they did in the Championship."
  18. Stop letting facts and rationality get in the way FFS.
  19. There was a thread on here a while ago that listed the number of players signed by each club in the summer. Obviously QPR had loads (11 transfers, 1 loan) but Swansea had 8 transfers plus 1 loan, Norwich also had 8 transfers plus some loans, I can't find a list but I know they had at least Ritchie de Laet on a season long loan.
  20. Not really, its actually less than all 3 promoted sides made last summer (including loans).
  21. He completely lost the dressing room as well; the Dutch normally don't need too much of an excuse for squad disharmony but Bert's insistence on playing his son in law and general abrasiveness rubbed all the top players up the wrong way and went a long way to developing the friction amongst the "stars". I wouldn't say he was clueless; when it was going well the Dutch looked great. When up against it they just lost it and played like a bunch of strangers at times.
  22. One of the worst players in the whole tournament. Watching him in one the games I started laughing at him but ended up feeling genuinely sorry for him, he was massively out of his depth playing for an underperforming team who started as one of the favourites to win it and ended up a laughing stock. Still, he's only very young so plenty of time for him to recover and come back stronger. Although I feel he has too much of an air of the Djimi Traores about him for my liking.
  23. Indeed, he's been brilliant. I can only hope we get one of his "oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooh, un be lieeeeeeevable" moments of commentary. Cracks me up every single time. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ReK1waJFhLI
