  1. I can only repeat my earlier answer. Here you go: I thought that was pretty cut and dried myself. You can disagree with the substance of it all you like, but tryinhg to say I didn't answer the question is just daft.
  2. And more insults. Well done you.
  3. I've honestly got no idea what you're on about now. I think I've wasted enough time for one night.
  4. So throwing money at a football club is a guarantee of success then?
  5. What on earth are you on about? I just answered your direct question. Dear God.
  6. My opinion of Billy Sharp is that he's an excellent player. Again, entirely irrelevant to my point. If Adkins believes that breaking the wage structure for one player would be detrimental to the whole squad then he's right not to do it. Particularly if it can't be justified financially. Pompey had to same idea of spend spend spend in pursuit of success and we know what happened there. So no, I don't believe we should break the wage structure; as I said, throwing money at the situation is not the definitive answer.
  7. I think it is irrelevant. There's no guarantee that Billy Sharp is this "missing piece" of the jigsaw. He's scored 5 less goals this term than our first choice striker, and 1 goal more than our second striker Guly. We have the top scorer in the division plus the 5th highest scorer in the division already on our books. Plus a free scoring midfielder in Lallana who pretty much every side in the division would welcome with open arms into their team. I see no evidence that the only barrier between us and promotion is the recruit of a 30K striker; I just his his non-recruit as an excuse to criticise the manager for a run of current poor form. A poor run of form with the same set of players that previously set the division alight. Transfers may turn that around, they may not, what's much more important to me is that Adkins gets the right man, not just the expensive available one.
  8. Irrelevant. Throwing money at the problem is no guarantee of anything; as Leicester are proving. Our whole club is built on a "together as one" ethos. I much prefer Adkins' approach of squad harmony and integration, rather than a knee jerk approach to something/someone who may or may not be the answer.
  9. A certain George Burley took that approach and rightly got castigated for it.
  10. Who on earth thinks we have a tight wage structure? Show me 1 person on here who thinks we're being frugal in terms of wages, and I'll show you an idiot.
  11. Football fans are an extremely fickle lot. Score a couple of goals and he'd be welcomed just fine, as bad as his going on strike business was. Whack the goals in and most people would forget, if not forgive. Not that it'll ever happen of course; though he's be a damn good signing for anyone in this division.
  12. Can't say I'm particularlly bothered either way. But that's because I struggle to take the OP anywhere near seriously. Rarely have I encountered such history of being so regularly blindingly wrong, yet so unable to recognise the sheer ignorance of his posts, than the drivel that presents itself in the form of Alpine Saint's posts. Gems posted with such sincere definition, such as "we'll finish 18th in League 1", "we might as well consolidate for the playoffs rather than try for automatic promotion", "we'll lose the ashes 5-0" and goodness knows how many other such idiotically boorish claims, yet still not one ounce of self-deprecation or humility. I find it best to laugh at Alpine's little outbursts, as they are good for not much else.
  13. It really isn't. It's a fairly bland design that has been used for quite a few stadiums, but it's not sh*t in the slightest. Every seat in the stadium offers a good view. It is close to the city centre. It seats 32K with the potential to raise that to 48K if it was ever required. I personally quite like the symmetry of the bowl. And when full it creates a decent atmosphere. I'd take our ground, however bland and unoriginal it is, over any of the unique out of town designs there are (Amex, Reading, Bolton etc etc).
  14. Yes clearly it was. I only deal in facts from you MLG, not emoticons.
  15. If you want to be pedantic (and we all know how you love to do that), most of Australia's players from that game do not play in England.
  16. Fair enough if its planning, but I still think its a weird gamble to leave such enormous corners without any seats. If planning permission is not granted you're left wioth a wonky stadium that just looks wrong. Not a great result for £90M. If planning is granted then of course i'll reserve judgement until then, but it seems like an arse about face way to go about things to me.
  17. I don't see the point in spending all that money to provide a stadium that isn't complete yet. Just build it all in one go, if that's the plan. I think it looks a bit daft at the moment, far too much empty space where there should be seats; even if they're empty its better than the current configuration. £90M not that well spent, IMO.
  18. Top of league, and we have a manager with no tactical sense. Ok then, genius. Well done on adding to the brigade of dalek, alpine and all the other ridiculous bet-wetters.
  19. Precisely right. Show some passion Hypo, and give up believing in your side before half time. That's what passionate fans do.
  20. Come on, show of hands, who thinks its necessary to throw the towel in at half time?
  21. 5 Saints shots against BC's 3. Not even half time yet. PANIC!!!!!!!!!!! EVERBODY PANIC!!!!!!!!
  22. Yes, obviously not interested. Spot on as usual. Adkins out FFS.
  23. I went on a stag do to Berlin in October and it was fantastic. Took in a Hertha game, the clubs are superb, top weekend all round.
  24. No you couldn't. The safe standing system in germany uses the exact same amount of space as the regular seating. The standing areas have to be converted to fixed seating for European games, which their system does allow for.
  25. Don't bother with facts with him, he only believes in self-indulgent b*llocks.
