I wasn't impressed with Fox last night; he didn't really do anything massively wrong apart from a few dodgy moments but neither did he shine. I just don't see why we've spent (apparently) close to £2M on a player who doesn't really add much to what we already had.

Very good support; apparently Leicester only took around 500 fans to Cardiff, which must be a similar distance to us.

That's exactly what he said; from the horse's mouth, so to speak.

David Chell joins Saints as chief commercial officer
The Kraken replied to Sevvy's topic in The Saints
Glad to see the club addressing this particular problem, hopefully we'll soon start to see the empty hospitality seats start to fill up again. -
The first one, we were chasing the game, Cardiff cleared their lines and it was going out for a throw in right by the technical areas. There were no players near, NA was trying to keep things moving so kicked the ball to Richardson I think to take a quick throw, but he misjudged it and the ball hadn't quite crossed the line. Ref blew for it, consulted the linesman then came over for a chat, Malky Mackay joined in and told the ref to be sensible (which was a very nice touch as Mackay had been sent off in a previous game for doing the exact same thing). NA retreated to the dugout for a minute or two before coming back to the technical area. As for the penalty claim, I didn't get a very good look at it, sorry!

I think the point is that "Humberside" hasn't been used as an official status for a number of years. It's a rather spurious point, granted.

Indeed, and I hope no-one does that. However, in this case I wouldn't go along with the notion of the club buying the medal for display; for a whole number of reasons, most of which are explained within that article.

As laughable as that is (and it's thoroughly laughable), the more worring thing is the quote I printed above from a Portsmouth fan. I'll repeat it: By a Pompey fan's own admission, if these pathetic attendances continue, that lot could soon be heading for another financial sh*t-storm. That must be wrong though, Corp says it's all in hand, it can't be correct. Can it?

"The Best Fans in the World TM" are starting to revolt, oh dear. Some choice words from their own. Oh dear, what a shame. Implosion. And 12K on the gate at £9.50 a ticket, by their own admission. Truly, massive time :lol:

What's more important ? The furture of SFC or its past ?
The Kraken replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
I'm still thoroughly confused as to what a "furture" is. -
Lee Bowyer you beauty. I need a shower after saying that.

OK, cheers. Actually, I've just seen there's a whole thread devoted to Beattie, so I'll leave it there! -

Where have you got that from? -
Ha ha, massive club. Best fans in the land. God I'd laugh if they got relegated; unfortunately I think even they're not sh*te enough for that this year.
-
While that's true, I'd still say West Ham, Boro and Leicester will feature in the promotion race. Add to that Derby's good start plus of course the Seaweed, playoffs would still be a thoroughly respectable achievement IMO. Not saying we shouldn't aim for automatic, of course not, nor saying we can't achieve it. But there's plenty of tests yet to come. Looking forward to tomorrow and seeing how we play against a well organised top side away from home.

It won't be his fault, though. The excuses have been trotted out already, they'll be regurgitated and repeated ad nauseam that it's the nasty board's fault.

Expansion of The Dell. Was it ever possible??
The Kraken replied to Paul Chuckle's topic in The Saints
It's been said, but at the Dell we were massively hemmed in with regard to how close the fans were to the pitch. New regulations with the size of perimeter really meant that the size of land available to us at the old site, however it was rotated, just wouldn't have been enough. And that's before you start even thinking about space for visiting TV crew vehicles, parking etc. I know St. Mary's gets a bit of criticism for it's location but, for an inner city stadium, I'm not sure if there are really too many better locations that we could have gone for. I actually very much like our new location, and as much as I loved the old ground I think we have the better of everything with our current location. -
Derby 0 Barnsley 1 Portsmouth 1 Peterborough 2 Dune, do us all a favour and chuck a bet on Cardiff tomorrow, would you please?

I genuinely don't get it, I really don't. I can say until I'm blue in the face that I'm massively thankful for Cortese, what he's done for the club and the direction he's taking us in. Yet as soon as you mention one tiny facet where I don't particularly agree with his approach on an issue (however minor it be) you get an avalanche of "stop undermining the club" accusations. It's utterly ridiculous, idiotic and childish. Besides which, I'm sure Nicola Cortese couldn't give two hoots about what a small bunch of random nobodies on an obscure internet forum think about him. I doubt there's anything that anyone on here could say that would have the effect of destabilising the club. -

Very well said; the need to pigeon-hole people into a pro or anti Cortese stance is as childish as it is ridiculous. -
Weird isn't it?

Exactly right.
