  1. Isn't he getting on a bit now?
  2. Didn't Alan partridge come from Norwich? You're not him, are you?
  3. I'll be there of as usual. The game against Norwich last season was a wonderful exhibition of football sportsmanship. None of the primadonnas that you get in the premiership, just good honest pros going at it hammer and tongs. Played at a cracking pace, if a player got clattered they just got up again and carried on. It was truly a memorable game. We lost of course.
  4. League cup is a domestic match but your point is still valid.
  5. I only saw the goal 'highlights' but he looked very slow for their third goal. The scorer just runs straight past him on his blind side, but you could also say that about most of the other players.
  6. Except that going through to the next round could have given us a big lump of money (by our standards).
  7. I agree. We should decide on our best back four and then stick with them. I'm not sure that those 4 are the best, though.
  8. That Vela looks useful. Any chance of getting him here on loan?
  9. It said so in the Mail so it must be true http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1061429/Venables-confirms-Toon-talks--El-Tel-set-step-Newcastle-hot-seat-today.html 'After Hoddle turned the job down because of the uncertainty surrounding the future ownership'
  10. He's just turned down Newcastle, do you really think he would want to come here?
  11. League Cup 26th November 2007, Tottenham 2 Middlesbrough 0, Bale 71mins Huddlestone 74mins.
  12. When did that apply to Gazza then? He wasn't sent off in that game at Wembley (Notts Forest?) 'though he should have been.
  13. Accurate that it's a rumour, or accurate that he's in financial trouble ?
  14. If the chairmen can't be bothered to attend the games, why should the fans?
  15. You've got a point there. Not attending is grossly disrespectful to the host team.
  16. And a welcome from me too. It's because we all care so much that we have such strong feelings. Many's the time that I wish I didn't.
  17. I was paraphrasing Gordon Strachan (I think it was he) who explained that if you are not physically tired then you are not in a condition to make the correct decisions, but you are correct, they are inter-related.
  18. That sounds like: 'Now look what you've made us do'
  19. Agreed, no apology necessary, but it's possible to be sceptical without being negative. We all sit at the ground in different seats and we all have different views about how the club is being run. That's the point of a forum.
  20. Along with others I raised my suspicions but I must admit that I didn't expect it all to go belly-up quite so soon.
  21. That's the system at the 'big' clubs like Liverpool and Arsenal. The club has a system that it likes to play to and every player is schooled into playing a role within that system. Then when they come into the team it minimises disruption.
  22. You could build a stack of 'em. There was that fellow who built a house that looked like a castle behind a giant wall of hay. He was trying to get round the planning laws but he was found out in the end.
  23. There speaks the voice of youth!
  24. It's just a concern at the moment. He obviously is not up to two games a week at present. He looked a bit off the pace against Blackpool but that is only to be expected
  25. Hence the new rules. Ipswich was one that went into admin before the new penalties. There were complaints from other clubs that it would be possible to spend all your money on players and then have the slate wiped clean. They considered this an unfair advantage.
