Ah, seeing him on Strictly Come Dancing all makes total sense now!

Tell me about it. I work for an 'arms-length' government body. We've already had our overall budget cut to the bone since the beginning of Tory austerity. We've had below-inflation pay rises for so long now that the real terms pay cut has really bitten, and this year's pay award is derisory in the grand scheme of things. We've been haemorrhaging good staff and their expertise left, right and centre because the overall pay and conditions package is now so poor compared to what skilled people can earn in the private sector - I heard recently that in my division alone only 29% of staff have more than a year's experience. The staff turnover has got so bad that we struggle to fill vacancies and the management teams are locked in a never-ending cycle of mass recruitment which takes them away from other work streams, and by the time we have completed a round of recruitment and got them all through initial training, so many people have already left that we're back to square 1 again almost immediately. The pressure this is putting on the rest of us to fill the void and deliver on our commitments is immense and is really taking its toll on staff morale. I've never known it to be so bad as it is right now. If the gov try and impose yet more cuts to budget and personnel on top of all this, I really don't see how we will even be able to fulfil our basic functions.

You could still choose not to respond though. Turks' obsession with you is admittedly very weird, but you're not entirely blameless. I learned a long time ago the best way to deal with his wholly transparent attempts at baiting is to not take the bait. Every time you do, you feed his obsession even more.

Feels like it should be accompanied by the Benny Hill music.

Ok, just to clarify - yes of course it's no laughing matter and millions of people, myself included, are going to suffer more hardship as a result of her total failure to anticipate the effect of her deranged plans. As a public sector employee, I took no pleasure in hearing JH state in no uncertain terms yesterday that there will be more budget cuts, because Christ knows we've suffered enough of them already in my organisation. So of course I don't want to see her given another 2 years (Well, year and a half in reality, because the 2019 election was only held in December for the purposes of Brexit - the 2024 one won't be) to wreak more carnage on society and the economy. But let's face it, she hasn't got a hope in hell of lasting that long. However, if there were to be a GE called tomorrow, I would love for Truss to stick it out and lead her band of criminally corrupt, self-interested shysters into political oblivion. Watching her get utterly destroyed in TV debates (if she could find the courage to turn up for them) would be extremely gratifying.

OK I didn't realise that. Still left it too late and failed to secure the win though.
-
It was better, at least up until we scored. But as usual, we retreated into our own half and invited them onto us after taking the lead.
-
Grateful for the point, but it was more down to WH's profligacy than any merit on our part. The second half performance was, once again, utterly woeful. No control in midfield, no cohesion in attack, defence exposed and outnumbered time and time again. At home against a team riddled with injuries and in poor form. These are the games we need to be winning, but we just don't show even the slightest sign of being able to do that. Yet again, it's clear we're being overrun but Ralph waits until we've conceded before making any changes. He never learns. Time for a change now. If this carries on any longer we're going down.
-
Of course not. There is just nothing about our recent performances that suggest we might actually pull out a fluky win.
-
Even if we somehow hold out and don't concede again, there is no excusing the manner of our second half collapse. A draw wouldn't even paper over the cracks. We're shit. We have no shape, no identity, and if something doesn't change soon we are going down.
-
Did the tater just say that Ralph always makes decisions with conviction when he sees something needs changing? WTF!?
-
4 subs at once. Last desperate throw of the dice from Ralph to save his job.
-
Ralph just standing there once again looking baffled why his gameplan hasn't worked. Just fuck off now please Ralph. Enough is enough.
-
Yep. They're completely overrunning our midfield now and the defence is so exposed. Can't see us not conceding again.
-
FFS I'm blaming that goal on you. Terrible defending to leave Rice that space.
-
Perraud did well there cos we were outnumbered in the middle.
-
He did well but that final ball was never going to beat the defender.
-
Same old. Delayed playing the ball through and gives away possession - WH play it forward quickly and have a shot just over the bar. We never seem to learn.

The really annoying thing about that ABK injury is that the WH player looked offside, so if the lino had flagged straight away instead of waiting like they are told to, it wouldn't have happened. KWP not having the best of games today.
